If/when Trump and Musk fall out, what will it be over? The results?

I think the real questions at this point:

  • How much damage, in terms of information and organizing against Trump, can Musk do, and
  • How will the other Republicans react?

I mean, I do not think it will happen, but Republicans could smell blood in the water and think, “Now is the time to replace Trump with Vance, we can stop worrying about the tariffs and all the crazy, and we get to keep Elon and his dollars, too!” and they actually go for an impeachment and removal.

Most likely, they will renounce Musk and keep Trump, as they fear their mob boss more. But if Musk really can bring the goods and the aforementioned red tint in the ocean turns to crimson, I think all bets are off. Chaos will ensure. I mean, bigger, better chaos. YUGE!

FWIW, I think Trump is the real idiot here. He should have known he was playing with fire with Musk and appeased him no matter what. So much for the ol’ 4D chess!

Musk himself is also playing with fire, but he’s so stupid that he’s already burned himself. Now he’s going for broke–but with megabucks at his disposal. Truly anything can happen–a real idiots’ delight!

I consider Trump not a fascist, but more a mainstream dictator.

HOWEVER, there are points of comparison.

AFAIK, the richest man in Germany, when Hitler took power, was Fritz Thyssen.

Like Musk, Thyssen pushed for the dictator to take power.

Like Musk, Thyssen supported some of Hitler’s early moves once in power.

Like Musk, Thyssen broke with Hitler.

Now, for the analogy to complete itself, Musk will flee the country, be caught, and then put in prison. But Musk has tools for evading justice (or injustice) that Thyssen did not:

Musk Private Jet Fleet

History does not repeat itself exactly.

Can’t tell if this was posted upthread: Musk now calling for Trump to be impeached.

“Mass Deportations Now!”

… Trump deports Elon Musk …

“No, not like that…”

Anyway, if Musk really wants, he can shut down the pro-MAGA accounts on Twitter. As long as he does not, Trump will have the edge in this battle as it shows that Musk isn’t really committed to this.

I’m so happy about this.

Yep. I smiling.

Please let it happen! I’ve been waiting with bated breath:

“…I have to admit a perverse anticipation of the day Trump and Elon Musk come to loggerheads because those are two narcissist that cannot share a spotlight, and as much as Elon has stumped for Trump up to this point he’s going to find that this won’t actually give him any special privilege when it comes to doing things Trump doesn’t like or care about. I predict an epic meltdown and an attempt at deportation or imprisonment for Musk is in the cards.“

Stranger

Seen elsewhere: “This is like Drake and Kendrick Lamar, but they’re both Drake.”

I’m not well versed in the feud. So this is probably a dumb question.

But is it possible the feud is mostly theater?

Chomsky claimed that you keep people passive by restricting acceptable thought, and engaging in rigorous debate within those confines.

I guess we’ll find out.

There’s certainly potential for lots of fantastic, damaging results but we never seem able to bury them once and for all.

Still, deportation and confiscation of assets for Elno and impeachment/Article 25 for Teflon Don are the kinds of things my dreams are made of.

In Reality Land, I will have to settle for the very obvious MAGA angst we’re seeing. The pols want to keep both Musk’s financial backing and Trump’s political support.

I thought it might be theater until Musk brought out Epstein.

The Trump cult can absorb whatever Musk throws at him, and shrug it off.

I was thinking in terms of fervent Nazis quickly getting over Hitler’s shedding of Ernst Röhm.

This would be interesting:

Steve Bannon suggested a peculiar solution to the Trump-Musk breakup: Kick the Tesla billionaire out of the country.

“They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately,” he told The New York Times in a phone interview.

Trump’s biggest fans are looking at their brand new cybertrucks with a dawning horror, realizing they now must make a video of themselves destroying it… while still making payments on it.

So now Musk has alienated both Trump haters and Trump fans. Now the only ones who will buy Tesla vehicles are those neutral on the president.

I think there’s three of those … they don’t like their rocks pried up to ask them questions though.

My fear is that Trump will be victorious over Musk and emerge appearing even stronger to his cult.

Elmo should use TACO. Crossing fingers.
