If/when Trump and Musk fall out, what will it be over? The results?

Yes, that is his SOP. Musk will be pulp under bus tires the moment Trump gets the jitters.

And Musk is too oblivious to see that he’s the mark in this case.

Yep, even chaos theory is of little help here.

My Magic 8 Ball says, “OMG”, “You ain’t gonna like it”, and “Kill yourself”.
“OMG”, that’s good, right?

He doesn’t need it anymore, now he has access to the government’s funds and can loot the entire nation at once without even needing to sell anything.

Except again (and this really needs to be said in public by the media) Musk is different to Bannon and the hordes of other scumbags and grifters who have oiled the axles of the Maga bus. He has a huge, almost unlimited, pile of cash and is almost certainly in the process of discretely funneling that cash to Donald.J Trump (it’s possible this is being done on the promise of cash in the future but I can’t believe Trump would trust Musk not to screw him over just as he would if the roles were reversed)

You are most likely correct. Agree that his wealth puts him in a different category.

In this timeline, that is a highly probable reason for a split. The key is to think of the most insane thing and up it to 11. Maybe Ivanka will announce she is having Elon’s kid and they are naming it Doge E.

Musk puts a little more cash in the coffers. All good.

I have no idea what it might be over, but the results? Trump will deny ever having met Muskox.

I suspect that a lot of MOC have had it explained to them the Musk can bury their reelection bids with contributions to their challengers if they don’t bend the knee, and he’ll be reimbursed with subsidies and contracts. Trumps comments to the Maine governor, for example.

remind me: Is Ivanka the blonde with the plastic face/body, or the brunette with the plastic face/body?

Doesn’t matter, since Elon doesn’t actually have sex with anyone on account of his broken dick.

You’re forgetting the power of Neuralink!

Cracks are showing over Musk’s attempt to fast track firings.

But there’s clear evidence of their very close relationship! I’d advise not eating before watching this (hopefully faked) video. It would certainly make me want to go back to teleworking if I were at HUD.

I’m starting to suspect that Trump leaves Musk in place as a focus of everyone’s hatred, so that everyone else in the administration, Trump included, is liked by comparison.

Ain’t working on me. :rage:

Perhaps not. And honestly, I can’t see Trump being that devious. But Musk is really unpopular, even among those in districts that voted overwhelmingly for Trump. From a New York Times article about a meeting Pete Sessions, Congressman from Texas, had with constituents in a small East Texas town.

Louis Smith, a veteran who lives in East Texas, told Mr. Sessions that he agreed with the effort to root out excessive spending, but he criticized the way it was being handled and presented to the public.

“I like what you’re saying, but you need to tell more people,” Mr. Smith said. “The guy in South Africa is not doing you any good — he’s hurting you more than he’s helping,” he added, referring to Mr. Musk and drawing nods and applause from many in the room.

So there’s a good guy/bad guy routine, and Donald Trump is one of the good guys?

I’m not saying you’re wrong.

Have any other authoritarian leaders had a Elon Musk? I’m thinking Sanjay Gandhi was Musky. Anyone else?

Perhaps there’s a case for Alexander Ii and Rasputin.

More likely to be simply that he’s too lazy to do anything that doesn’t involve golf or adulation, and Musk is more than willing to do the dirty work

Ernst Rohm comes to mind. Things worked out just fine for him, right?
