If You Could Choose TLDRIDKJKLOLFTW 's New Name..

Eh… erm… eh… hmmm.

I go back and forth with this. Like I said earlier, I love the classic “controversial” troll, while at the same time loathing the “insulting” troll. Dane Cook does a skit where he talks about loving to watch couples in"nothing fights". Just fights over mundane things because they are always annoyed with each other but refuse to break up. And he admits to doing small and mild little things to try and aggravate these fights into spilling over into actual fights.

While I don’t enjoy seeing real life people fight, I will admit to a mild amusement at seeing people fight over the internet. My own example is that even though there have been more than one thread about VCO3’s name change I’ve tried to stay away, but some feelings have been bottled so I just blew up. Am I hoping this will spark some replies, especially from the subject himself? Sure.

That being said, I don’t think he was being playful or amusing with the name change. I believe he was being deliberately annoying, so now I have to accept that I was wrong in defending him for so long.
Although I remain open to changing my mind once again if he can convince me otherwise. My first question would be, do you really think a brand new member would get away with this name?

Yep.

Okay, corrected.

[del]Damn[/del] Fuck, that’s what I was about to change my name to!

Then I guess the question would be why anyone would be allowed to have such a difficult name to reference, regardless of intent.

People get asked to change names for cuss words or names that are extremely similar to the name of an existing member. I can’t remember anyone being asked to change their name just because it was difficult.

Abbreviate it if you like. My old name was commonly initialized in references.

This, FTW. Although this thread was very nearly TLDR for me.

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

I just want to set the record straight here - I did not coldly mock someone who lost a pet, I brutally attacked someone who killed their own pet by using the justification that “I’m not killing him, I’m just sending him to the maaaaaaagical rainbow bridge where he’s going to play guitar and fly around - La la la!”

The poster was clearly out of her mind, one step away from being one of these people, and was CHOOSING to kill her own dog because of something ridiculously minor, like it growled at another one of her dogs or something like that.

I would never “mock” someone for “losing” a pet, and I certainly wouldn’t do it coldly. My pets are literally my life and I can’t imagine having to endure without them.

Your literally is literally my figuretivelly. Literally.

This is provoking a lot of anger, but let’s reflect on the fact that it can be taken literally and non-trollingly, for lack of a better word. While most Dopers have no idea what “VCO3” means and are thus likely to misread it as “VC03”, most Dopers know what “TLDRIDKJKLOLFTW” means and at any rate it’s nigh impossible to misread it as anything other than what it is. (Back off, musicians and Luddites–I said most.) Not to mention that TLDRIDKJKLOLFTW seems like a quick summary of an experience of describing his username, which many Dopers can identify with. ASAWAANHDFAOINHINHAQINHFD has problems, but that particular sentence is not one of them.

Feeling a bit fascist today, are we?

You are not a humourous crank, you are a despicable and offensive liar who should have been banned long ago. Papsett, the poster in question, adopted a dog which had been mistreated in the past, but had to have it put down because it turned out to be too aggressive and dangerous to handle: this was deeply upsetting to her, but she faced up to what had to be done, and you chose - and still choose - to twist the words of a distressed woman in order to cop a cheap sneer. Fuck you.

Link.

Is it okay if I clean up the spelling when I steal that?

Certainly.

Wow, long memory. I never saw that thread. I thought his spitting in food one was his worst offense. Silly me.

Maybe we should compile a list of his worst Ops & posts? After typing it, that sounds really dumb, so I would say, “No”.

Keep it just the way it is.

It’s a combination of all the most annoying internet forum abbrs, and that string of all caps is very appropos of how dick-in-your-face they can be. You see a topic with that name, you know it ain’t gonna be no “Which way do the clippings blow out of your lawnmower” thread. It’s gonna be HIGH drama, and I do mean HIGH!

He might play the hyperbolic but amusing crank these days, but the fact that he’s still lying about how mean-spiritedly offensive he was to another poster in genuine distress sticks in my craw: that thread right there is the inner Tilda.

I know who TLDR reminds me of, Belkar from Order of the Stick. He makes a lot of sense when I look at it that way.

How about “Please Do Not Feed Me”?

OK, I’ve never been a VCO3 apologist, but come on, he fantasized about spitting in someone’s coffee. Fantasized about it. On a fucking Internet MB. Has anyone ever worked in customer service and not wished they could intentionally ruin a customer’s day at least once?
