Okay, fair enough, but if you reread what you wrote, I think you’ll see how it could easily be misinterpreted: You are on the wrong messageboard. Dopers have strong opinions and you need to grow a thicker skin if you intend to hang around here. There was nothing in the thread that warranted it being a Pit thread. If the strong opinions for which I need to grow a thicker skin were from this thread, it would seem that you think I took offense at opinion expressed in this thread; I did not.
Do they simply state an opinion that you disagree with, or do they actually say something offensive? I can understand how someone stating a dissenting opinion could get certain people mad. It wouldn’t get me mad, but I can understand it. That’s different than what I’m talking about. Do people say, “I do not believe in Christianity; I find many Christian beliefs to be utterly false.” or do they say, “Christians have stupid beliefs. What the hell are they thinking? How can they be so idiotic?” Do you see the difference? Same (basic) opinion, but completely different attitude. It’s possible to express your opinion without being disrespectful.
Balle_M: If a Moderator tells me I acted incorrectly, I will apologize to them. I’m trying to keep an open mind, and I would be willing to accept that I went against the wishes of those in charge of this board. But if a Moderator does correct me, I seriously doubt it will be because of the attitude that they don’t need our help. They have asked for our help, and as a general attitude, I’ll bet they do want people to point out inappropriate posts.
