Does anybody else remember the original SeaLegs fake crab legs? Thin layer of fish goo cooked then rolled into a tight tube shape and a swoop of red to not really look like a crab leg? OK, now “meat glue” - or transglutaminase, it turns scrap sized bits of protein into what seems to be solid cut of meat, if you have had the deli boneless ham from a big formatted loaf, that was made with meat glue. Cloning undifferented tissues is doable but only in thin sheets because the nutrient is in a bath not blood vessels.
Now get this - clone a segment of crab muscle, nice 4-5 cell deep sheet. Meat glue. Format into a faux crab leg, or shred for salad/filling, hell just format into a brick for the ultimate crab sandwich =) Same with lobster or shrimp, or any vanishing species of fish. Other than the ‘steak’ fish like shark or swordfish, we don’t really look for a solid hefty muscle like mammal. It seems if we can get the flavor bang on, probably something in the nutrient broth. I personally would never boil a live swimmy thing again if I can get a close enough version that was economical. And it would be preventing overfishing.
Alternately, in the same vein of overfishing - found a cod farm up off Greenland/Iceland/not sure and farm cod like we do salmon. Granted, the real critter surimi is more likely to happen. I could start it out as a seriously expensive exclusive thing =)
Buy myself an annuity totally separate from my billions and handled by a management/legal company. It would go into 2 accounts, 365,000 for my annual ‘allowance’ with the balance going into an account that is used to otherwise manage my million a year that pays for my home, vehicle, insurance, medical and whatever the expenses I have are. I doubt I would be living in a 10K a month flat in Manhattan, probably a nice comfortable house on enough property t have a small lake on it and I need a van to haul my chair around but they are not always expensive [I like the momvan sized sprinter] My main account would be the one that invests in projects, and any interest and profits go back into making more. I would also buy and refurbish buildings for ultra low income people to try and help with the overall homeless situation. I might try and put a workspace in each building that runs as a small call center or data entry center or something to be a bootstrap job. If I could help 50 people a year get into a better situation, it is well worth the time and money.
