if you had to pick 1 song to hear for the rest of your life

what would it be…

you don’t to listen to it all the time, but when you choose to listen to music, it’s the only song you can play.

Ice Ice Baby

yes, I’m serious

Main Offender- The Hives

If you extend your question to one musical piece, right now, I would have to pick Dvorak’s New World Symphony.

“Bonaparte’s Retreat” The Johnny Horton version.

The Forrest Gump Suite from the movie of the same name.

Then I feel comfortable saying: “Lady” by Styx… maybe “Lady” by Little River Band" (Yeah! They’re different, so sue me!)

Cowboy Junkies To Live’s To Fly

Cowboy Junkies To Live’s To Fly

Cowboy Junkies To Live’s To Fly

Cowboy Junkies 1920’s Style “Death Ray”

Cowboy Jun… err, I mean

The Pixies - Where is My Mind?

Where is My Mind works for me.

Paranoid Android - Radiohead. You can probably tell I’m a big fan of theirs.

The Killing Hand by Dream Theater

Wait, I’m changing my answer to…

Badger Badger Badger Badger
MUSHROOM! MUSHROOM!

“The band in heaven plays my favorite song
They play it once again, they play it all night long…”

But that’s not the song I’d want…going by the number of times it ends up on my mix CD’s, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.

Which could work out, since the idea is, in heaven you sing odes to god for all enternity (god’s favorite song?) so if I get in, I’ll sing that one :).

Holy crap betenoir…I stopped in this thread to say that I would pick “Heaven,” but I couldn’t figure out why! Of course, I ignored the obvious lyrical content.

What the hell, it’s a good song: “Heaven” by Talking Heads.

“Creosote” by Son Volt. “Ambulance Blues” by Neil Young would be a close 2nd.

Hayfever by the Trash Can Sinatras. I don’t know why but I never get tired of this song. I listened to it for 3 hours straight one time, then listened to it the next day and still enjoyed it.
