Could have gone for the RR if I’d waited on the obvious yellow. I missed the red herring and found this one pretty easy.

Welcome to 2026, it is January 1st, also known as Thursday. I got a clean sweep, though I’m not sure I have heard of most of Blue.

Not just you. Even after the reveal the category seems specious to me.

One small mistake and didn’t get blue but it’s late and I’m tired.
Yay! I bridged the years with reverse rainbows. Blue was leftovers which always makes it a bit nerve-wracking to try second.

Blue was harder because I’ve never heard of the word RAT used that way.

I have never heard “rat” used that way, but because of my first guess, i realized it was likely in a different group than “nut”, and I’d already tried “nut”. Purple was completely fair, but i didn’t get it.
On Thursday’s, I went through several tries for blue, because even though I saw the category, there were five words that fit it.

Starting the year with a reverse rainbow, but this was a hard one. Got yellow and green quickly, but had such a hard time finding purple or blue that I wasted a lot of time going through settled yellow and green choices for red herrings. Finally got purple, then blue was leftovers.
In hindsight I’ve heard the term gym rat.
Here, I only know of gym bunny.
I failed for the first time in many days. I kept trying to include NUT with the enthusiast group.
It’s already Friday. I shouldn’t have made these mistakes, I was not thinking things through.

Was there a red herring for your first guess?
SHUCKS, CURSES, RATS, NUTS are all mild insults. I right i might have actually seen a purple connection.

No real issues
After making up my own red herring, figuring out the purple helped it all fall into place.

Pretty straightforward. Guessed wrong on blue vs. green.
For once, I actually figured out purple before it was leftovers. I might be finally getting the hang of this. It started from figuring out what quash might be, and once I saw one possibility for that, I found others.
