I flew through the first three. Took a minute or two to figure out purple, and I still have no idea how DRESS fits in.
A shift is a type of simple dress.
It is Sunday where I live. This one was quite easy, I guess, helped by a category they had used once before. However I had never heard one of the words used in that way.

Found a red herring. Blue was leftover for me, too. I thought it was types of dance, although i didn’t recognize all the words used that way. I’m not even sure what is meant here by “anthem”.

Avoided the red herring. Blue was leftovers today. Back on track with a second RR in a row.
Purple was easy, because glute gave it away. It clearly wasn’t the literal meaning, so wordplay was the only option.
And anthems was a terrible name for that category. A better one would have been catchy tunes.
Monday again. Stumbled on a tricky one.

After coming by purple first honestly, I tried for the reverse rainbow. I would have gotten it had I not fat-fingered blue. But I didn’t look closely enough to realize I’d fat-fingered it. Thinking I’d gotten it wrong, I picked the low-hanging fruit, then eventually determined that blue was indeed what I thought I’d entered earlier. Ugh.
Still have no idea what blue is.

I failed miserably.
Too many detectives and I didn’t see purple.
Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple
A quick solve for me. Blue jumped right out, with Green not far behind. I actually solved Purple right before I submitted it, which usually doesn’t happen.

Got stuck on a red herring (wrong set of detectives) but worked my way out of it. The advantage of going for reverse rainbows (finding all categories before submitting any) is that it’s easier to spot red herrings.
