One of my quicker recent solves. BYGP, took me about 45 seconds. I even got Purple as I was selecting the last four clues.

Fairly easy one today, but I’m scratching my head a little over the color assignments. I would have switched yellow and blue.

I thought blue was the easiest group (with yellow not far behind). I could only get 3 of the greens so got a couple of errors as I tried to guess the 4th. Would never get purple, had only heard of two of the answers and I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have got the link if I knew all 4.

Saw the purple category but reacted a little too quickly with a fifth, imperfect, possibility. (It helped that my initial shuffling clustered three of the purple answers together in the upper left corner.)

The rest seemed of equal difficulty. I tried to reverse rainbow it, but couldn’t guess the difficulty ratings of the categories successfully.

My initial mistake was CREW RING FOUNDATION BASE. Reasonable, but I see the disconnect now.

As for purple… If CONNECTICUT and PARSNIP show up at the same word party, they’re going to compare themselves and look for others.

Got them with no mistakes but have to admit I did not see the Purple until I saw the answer.

Admittedly, however, I got Blue only because they were the only ones left.

I pulled off the reverse rainbow today!
I went to work on CONNECTICUT immediately, correctly guessing it was one of those ”starts with” or “ends with” categories. After focusing on CONNECT for a minute, I looked over at PARSNIP and the light bulb went on.

Blue was actually the next one I found, and then I was left to guess which of the remaining categories were which color.

Fun one!
