If You Pulled a Roethlisberger. . .

WTF? If I raped someone would I be fired?

This sounds like a moronic question. Demand more clarification.

No, he didn’t rape someone, at least as far as our legal system is concerned.

The one in Tahoe chose not to pursue criminal charges, allegedly because she was afraid of losing her job. The one in Georgia did pursue criminal charges, but the DA chose not to file any.

I know one guy who used a trade show as an opportunity to get drunk and obnoxious for four days, and was fired for it.

However, one of the persons he chose to be obnoxious to was the boss, and that probably had something to do with the decision.

If the position involved maintaining a public image or required a lot of client interation - probably so.

Thanks to all for the explanations.

Actually, I think a product with the word “jerk” in the title is the perfect product for him to endorse.

It’s generally accepted that Roethlisberger is a jerk, a cad, and a manslut.

But what if you were accused of something you didn’t do? Have you ever been accused of something you didn’t do? What if your employer fired you because of it? I wouldn’t like to have my reputation ruined because of baseless accusations. When public officials are accused of malfeasance, they’re always put on “administrative leave” while still getting paid, and people jeer. But I would hope for nothing less from my employer if I was getting railroaded like that. And I’d certainly wish for more – that they’d stand behind me until I was exonerated.

I wouldn’t get it – they’d drop me like a radioactive jicama. But I can dream.
