IF YOU WANT TO USE TEENSY-WEENSY TYPE, it's [sub] not [SIZE=1]!!

Hey, I’m too dru… er… tired to be able to detect any tension in this thread. to me it’s all been in good humour.

Monstre. I can do ten silly rants easy. (“I pit dopers with confusingly similar screen names! Monstre! monstro! monster! munster!”) But where’s the fun in that? I think we can all agree it’s far more entertaining when I go off half-cocked on something I’m absolutely dead serious about and it turns out to be something extremely minor.

Lobsang. This is more at averting hard feelings. I don’t mind calling people fuckwits if they deserve it, but this was plainly uncalled for. I was just showing off the potty mouth in the pit. See, I don’t even dri… get tired at 8:00pm What’s my excuse? >grinning icon<

Askia I promise you - when I said it all seemed in good humour I meant it. There were never any hard feelings in the first place, let alone any that required averting.
As it happens I insist on using [sub] for tiny text rather than [size=1]. Where coding is concerned I am (or was) a perfectionist. (I am a programmer by nature and I always insisted on absolute perfect ‘coding standards’ in my own coding. It mattered more that my code was indented by two spaces than whether the overall program worked perfectly)

I’m glad you mentioned it because I notice all these posts where people obviously wanted to make a comment in smaller type but it ended up with bigger type. I’ve wanted to do smaller type myself but after attempting it a couple times and never being able to get it right on preview, I gave up.

Obviously I wasn’t clever enough to figure it out for myself, so thanks for the tip.

Exactly. And now you just need to complete 9 more of them and you’re on the way to a new straightjacket. Complete with logo: “Straight Dope: Driving Me Nuts Since 1973”

Plus, it’s been done before.

Size matters.

Lobsang has always reminded me of “lobster”. I don’t know if I’ve ever told him/her that before. :dubious:

T[sub]h[/sub][sup]e[/sup]s[sub]e[/sub] [sup]a[/sup]l[sub]l[/sub] [sup]l[/sup]o[sub]o[/sub][sup]k[/sup] t[sub]h[/sub][sup]e[/sup] s[sub]a[/sub][sup]m[/sup]e [sub]t[/sub][sup]o[/sup] m[sub]e[/sub]

Or you can always do what I do and ignore those sentences that are typed in the itty-bitty font. I mean, the poster doesn’t really want that stuff read anyway, right? If they wanted you to read it, they’d put it in normal size, DUH!

Well, I don’t see any requests to close the thread, so I think I’ll just bump it to the top as I point at Askia and smirk.

Thanks, Tom. And to think I would have missed Askia’s little faux pas had you not bumped the thread!

Yeah, what the hell is wrong with that Askia guy anyway?

[sub]Can I throw fruit?[/sub]

subYes,[/sub] and subnot[/sub] only subthat,[/sub] my subeyesight[/sub] is subso[/sub] crummy subthat[/sub] “Arial” sublooks[/sub] like sub"Anal"[/sub] on submy[/sub] screen.

I second this. Besides, I just use the little drop-down menu that does it for me. I’m lazy, see?

[sub=2]Is this smaller?[/sub]
[sub]Or this?[/sub]

Ooooh! I feel all Optomitrist-y!

Nuts. I have the exact same problem as Askia (Size=1 is huge in my Linux Firefox browser) and opened this thread hoping to find a big old circle-jerk of agreement, perhaps with a collective decision to ban Size=1 forever. Instead, I found a big old circle-jerk of disagreement and mockery, the worst kind of circle-jerk. [sub]At least when you’re outside the circle…[/sub]

Sigh.

Marlitharn, didn’t you really mean this:

subYes,[/sub] and [sup]not[/sup] only subthat,[/sub] my [sup]eyesight[/sup] is subso[/sub] crummy [sup]that[/sup] “Arial” sublooks[/sub] like [sup]“Anal”[/sup] on submy[/sub] screen.

Ok, I’ve read it about 5 times and I can’t tell the difference.

It’s three levels: Like [sup]this,[/sup] instead [sub]of[/sub] being [sup]on[/sup] two [sub]levels[/sub] like [sup]the[/sup] other [sub]post[/sub] had [sup]been.[/sup]

/[sup]/–_[/sup]_[sub]–/[/sub]_/ Conjoined martians.
