If you were on the reality show The Amazing Race, who would you pick for a partner?

Who would be the person you’d be most likely to kick the most ass and advance the furthest with?

By far, my girlfriend. She’s pretty buff and athletic…and I’m not all that shabby myself, although she could outpace me in a heartbeat.
Still, I think we’d get about to the top 5 or so.

You?

Judging from my and supervenusfreak’s ability to find our way around even an area we know well, I’d say neither of us would ever actually get TO the first airport…

**Not my husband ** - although I am sure people would tune in every week to see if we’d killed each other yet.

I would take my friend Stacy. She is daring, smart and determined, plus she doesn’t irritate the hell out of me inside five minutes.

Either Suburban Plankton or my best friend of 20 years. Probably my husband because no girl/girl teams have won yet and I’d have a better chance with a strong guy on my team, than with another girl with my similar strength.

Either way (hubby or best friend), we’ve got the three key things down…drive a stick, yep; excellent map-reading skills, yep; attention to detail for reading clues, yep. And I’ve been on road trips/adventures with both of them enough to know how we’d be travelling together.

I could see myself in the top 5.

My oldest brother because he’s dying to try out for it anyway. He and my other brother would probably make a better team, but if he needed me to go for it instead, I’d do it.

I’d also spend nearly every waking moment reading maps and working out in preparation for it to start.

My friend bristlesage. First of all, she is a huge Amazing Race fan, so she knows all the tricks and stuff. Second, she has a great sense of direction, something I severely lack. Third, between the two of us we can get by in four languages. Fourth, we used to be roommates so we already know we can get along for long periods at a time.

The only negative is that there’d be a distinct possibility she’d kill me for screwing something up. Did I mention she’s a huge Amazing Race fan?

Shatner. William Shatner.

Phil Keogan.

Heh. If Phil were my TAR partner, we wouldn’t be mixing much with the other teams at the Pit Stops…or leaving our room, at that…

OK, I admit this is on my list of shows I’ve been meaning to watch but haven’t, but there’s no doubt who I’d pick: the gentleman I’ve been seeing for the past year and a half. Both of us are bright, practical, and good at thinking on our feet. He drives well; I navigate well and am also good with languages. We’ve been on a few road trips together and done various other things, so I know we work well as a team.

CJ

Both my husband and I have the worst sense of direction, and we bicker when we’re in stressfull situations, and he’s more out of shape than I am so we would suck at the last sprint to the finish line…

But, I can not think of any one else in the world who I would have a more fun time with.

Besides, he loves that show and would kill me if I didn’t pick him…

It would have to be my husband. I don’t have any other friends or family members who would be able to stick it out. I’m great at reading maps and directions, and we can both drive a stick. I’m always yelling at these idiots about not reading the frickin’ clue or not being able to find the damned box.

We’d have to seriously get in shape, though. He’s in Tae Kwon Do, which helps him, but I’m a lazy ass. Neither one of us is a runner, so that would suck. We can’t throw for shit. He’s afraid of heights and hates flying. Neither one of us will eat seafood or mushrooms. I’m on anti-depressants and don’t handle perceived failure well.

HEY! We sound like perfect contestants!
