The University of New Hampshire has a set of new speech codes. Many many problematic words.
Homosexuals (the word!) is problematic and should be referred to “Same Gender Loving”,
“American” is problematic and should be called something else,
“foreigner” should be called “international people”,
“Caucasian” is not just stupid, it’s also problematic and should be called “European-American individuals”,
mothering and fathering are also problematic for some reason,
“wheelchair user” is now a “person who is wheelchair mobile”,
saying a person is “rich” is dobbel plus ungood and should be forthwhile be known as a “person of material wealth”,
likewise “poor” sods should be known as “persons who lacks advantages that others have” because it sits so much better on the tongue.
And so on and on. Bias-Free Language Guide claims the word ‘American’ is ‘problematic’
Of course I completely acknowledge that if you think any of this is silly you’re a disgusting bigot.
Btw., is Cultural Appropriation considered a variant of Political Correctness or more like a sister ideology? At least I think it’s pretty funny that white chicks with big booties and Miley Cyrus twerking hers are considered cultural appropriation – and apparently very very bad.

No, itdoesn’t. One particular group proposed a set of guidelines as a starting point for discussion, it’s not University policy and certainly not “a set of new speech codes”. Not the same thing.
What that guide shows though is that not only is complaining about PC NOT evidence of bigotry, but extreme PC is itself offensive.
Only if you find the example everyone was complaining about (noting that “American” - as a national appellation - is kind of presumptuous) is offensive, rather than just silly. Nothing in that list was offensive, lots of it was silly - but again, it wasn’t University policy but explicitly a starting point for discussion, so who cares?
