If your Democrat of choice loses the nominee; will you vote for the other?

Well, I hope my fears are overblown. I really do fear that a Clinton nomination will result in yet another Democratic loss. She just does not have the cross-over appeal to independents and the other party that both McCain and Obama have.

Jim (BTW: a guy) This is ironic stuff coming from someone who was happy to vote for Reagan and served in the Reagan’s super-sized Navy.

The choice between Obama and Clinton is an extremely divisive issue among Democrats, and it’s a shame. The Dems are facing an historic election. Instead of excitement and unity against another four years of Bush, there are bitter feelings and squabbles between Obama and Clinton supporters.

I hope Obama wins the nomination but I will vote for Clinton over McCain.

Even though I’ve been assured that Clinton is a malevolent shape-shifting alien infiltrator from Sigma Draconis, and Obama can cure your cancer just by smiling at you, I’m voting for whoever the Dems put up, whether messiah or space monster.

I’ll choose my ticket by who’s at the top. I’d vote for Obama whether Clinton is VP or not. If Obama were not an available choice, I’d vote for McCain unless he has a VP so malevolent that I can see the pre-meditated murder of McCain in his (or her) eyes. Clinton is a far-distant third choice.

Nope. If Obama doesn’t get it, I’m voting for a third party candidate. Not that it matters here in GA.

Ditto. I vastly prefer Obama to either, but no matter what, I’d far rather have Hillary appointing Federal judges and setting our Iraq policy than McCain.

For me it’s about character. I find people’s confidence that Hillary will appoint “better” judges surprising. Based on her character (as I read it, YMMV), she will make appointments that serve her political needs. That may or may not mean they are judges of character who will struggle to do what is constitutional.
