Ahem! Would be??? Uh-uh, is! The arrangements on some of the tunes on that album are amazing, beats the Shaft score by a mile.
If you’re a true Black person you have to know the answer to the following questions:
What do Wille Hutch, Richard Pryor, and Goldie all have in common?
What would your vehicle be adorned with if you were “digging the scene with a ganster lean”?
I say “would be” because for it to be “is”, the movie would have to cease to exist
Had the movie never existed, the album would stand by itself as a classic.
Oh yeah, I made a mistake before: it’s I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.
The Mack
Diamond in the back, sunroof top
Not bad for white boy, huh?
I’ve seen the movie several times - HBO has a way of falling in love with certain movies and playing the bejeezus out of them. This one was one of them.
aaaand… I know that KRS-ONE stands for Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone.
Wa-da-da dang

Get this man some soul, STAT!!
It was from one of those Bill Cosby/Sidney Poiter movies. Either “Uptown Saturday Nite” or the other one.
Saw a clip from the movie this quote was taken from last night on “I Love the 80’s” on VH-1.

Unfortunately, the only line I can truly remember from Purple Rain is, “How’s the family?”
I loved The Last Dragon. But it’s been many years since I’ve seen it. However, I did see Blackula not too long ago. LOVE IT!
Some of you might claim to be the blackest white boy on this thread, but this guy is the blackest jew boy ever.
I would’ve thought that was Lenny Kravitz.
That would be Hollywood Shuffle, starring Robert Townsend with the Keenan Ivory and Damon Wayans:
“Black Acting School!”
“What they think Dirty Larry was reachin’ for? His credit card?”
“You don’t get rid of Mercedes just 'cause it’s got a dent in it.”
“They killded Jimmy, man … he was my MAIIIIN man!”
I semi-remember the line the movie thatRobert Townsend was supposed to say as a thug in a movie. “Why you done shot me? I ain’ts be gots no weapon!”
