Ever since the latest update of Firefox I have to keep using the Google password assistant to login. Each time I restart my browser when I try to login iGoogle keeps telling me my username/password is incorrect…the only way around it is to use the password asssistant change my password each time I want to sign in.
It’s not only on my worklaptop but at home as well. Even on my Iphone can I no longer access my googlemail which I set up as my ‘mailbox’ (bottom of the creen)
I know it’s nothing earth-shattering but rather annoying…
If you go to Tools - Options - Security (tab) - Saved Passwords…(button) and search for “Google” and click “Show Passwords” what does it say is the saved password for your Google account? Is it correct?
I had a similar problem not too long ago - the saved password for Google was wrong. I never looked to see what it was saved as, but it was clearly longer than my real password. I just had to remember to type it in, instead of using the saved password, until it was saved properly by Firefox.
Try clicking “Remove” in the Saved Passwords dialog in Firefox, and then logging in to iGoogle again by typing in your username and password (carefully!). Make sure when you go to iGoogle to log in you are at the main login page, and not the page you get when you’ve logged in incorrectly. This way Firefox will remember the login for the correct page.
HHmmm so I cleared my stored password and closed my firefox browser. Restarted the browser, clicked on my bookmark for iGoogle (which now just read Google) then proceeded to log in…only to be told, once again, “Username and password do not match.”
I have been getting a similar thing with Youtube that is demanding my Google account name & password but then won’t accept either account name/password, nor my original username and password - this is with Epiphany, Firefox logs me ito Google & Youtube without any problems - yet!
Are you logging in using Username@gmail.com or just Username? Maybe if you are using Username try Username@gmail.com (provided your login = your gmail name and not some other email address)

I am using username@gmail.com when logging in…and only I checked some of the other websites I have my password stored for in firefox and all is working fine - just iGoogle seems to be the odd one out
