Tech question: Firefox and passwords

So I got one of those extortion scam emails (that I have no intent of paying, to be clear). As “proof” of their hack, they included an account password that sounded familiar, and like something I might have used. Suspiciously, said email didn’t say where this password was used.

I decided to check to see if I was still using that password so I could change it. But the way Firefox (my primary web browser on my MacBook) lists passwords now, I have to go through each and every entry to remind myself of what the password is - more secure, but more annoying as well.

Does anyone know a quick and easy way to see if that password is still on my saved list? The site I thought it was for wasn’t it (or I changed it from that literal years ago), and I can’t think of another site I would’ve used it for.

Thanks in advance!

Did you type the password in the search bar at the top of the “logins & passwords” page? I did that for my one old weak password and it brought all the relevant entries up just fine.

The search bar searches logins, not passwords, for me. I tried searching there for a password I know is saved and confirmed it didn’t come up with anything.

Do you have the most recent version of Firefox? I just tried searching for a password and it brought up any logins using it.
