I’ll be attending a document management seminar in N.W. D.C. Wednesday June 8. It ends at noon. They’ll be serving lunch, but I’d much rather meet some fellow Dopers than eat Xerox food.
If you’ll be in the area and can stomach my obnoxious personality for an hour or so, let me know and we’ll hash out some plans.
I probably won’t be able to join you but I can suggest a place to meet: The Old Post Office Pavilion at 1100 Pennsylvania. They have a great food court, is walking distance from 1300 K (about 6 blocks south and two east), and convenient to Metro (Federal Triangle Station is across the street).
I can meet at a restaurant, too. I’m cool either way. If you prefer a restaurant, pick one. I don’t know anything about D.C. lunch spots, except what’s close to my firm’s D.C. office. I prefer an ethnic restaurant, but will pretty much (as my thighs can attest to) eat anything.
Hey, I’m probably going to be tied up, but I’ll monitor the thread in case my plans change. I disagree with the suggestion of the Ol’ Post Office, though. It’s a bit more of a hike for one and maybe both of you than is necessary, and ever since Sept. 11th there’s a ton of security and, ergo, a huge hassle to get into the food court.
Hi. I work at L’Enfant Plaza, and I might be able to swing by.
One option is just walking about 2 blocks west on K St. from where UrbanChic’s meeting is. That’s Farragut Square, and there’s loads of selections there.
IIRC, there’s another food court in The Shops at National Place (1331 Pennsylvania Ave.), which is near Metro Center. Less of a hike that the Old Post office and didn’t have much security issues when I was there a few months ago.
