I'll live to regret this, but here's the Semantle thread

@Dancer_Flight, @Maserschmidt, @Cugel, are any of you still playing Redactle? If so, I’m sure you all are aware of the security certificate expiry issue. Not sure if any of you know about Redactle Unlimited, but you can play each day’s game there, and you can also play random games too, if you really like punishment ;). You can still play on the regular site if you bypass the security warning though, but on my browser the UI is all messed up, so I’ve been going to the unlimited site.

I haven’t played today’s game yet, but yesterday’s (#86) I got in 36 guesses with 44.44% accuracy.

It’s funny, I think I gave up on this game a couple of weeks before this happened. Like most of the -dle games it was fun for a while for me, but eventually felt like a bit of time hog. But thanks for the redirection, I do see the new one out there, and might try it now and then.

Yeah, it can be a bit of a time hog. I have spent way longer than I would have liked on some of them. I kind of have a time limit now. There have been a few recently, including yesterday, that were pretty fast and easy.

If you do feel the itch to play on the Unlimited site, just be sure the URL has a hyphen in between (Redactle-Unlimited). Apparently someone copied their site (no hyphen), but their games aren’t the same as what’s on the original or the unlimited site.

I’m enjoying semantle. I can’t get started with redactile.

I’ve just discovered this game today and did it in 92 guesses. My 91st guess was an “unusual word”! It didn’t give me a “getting close” score - instead adding a bunch of question marks. However the word was ranked as second in my list with a similar word score of 63.92. I wonder how common this is? I haven’t seen anyone else mention it on quickly searching through the thread.
