This isn’t very noteworthy, but I thought I’d mention it since I always loved the name Persephone.
My real name is Melania, and that is what Demeter was called in the wintertime when Persephone was with Hades. I always thought I would be ‘funny’ to name a daughter (if I had one) Persephone.
So, Christi, even though I’m 26, I’m going to mother you.
My dictionary has a slightly different definition – I’m not sure they kept their Greek and Latin straight.
While my schedule at the moment is too busy to allow for any actual abductions, I do expect you to fulfill your duties in reigning over the underworld, Persephone. We are low on brimstone in sector 7 and Tantalus needs a new boulder. There is a Punishment Committee meeting at 8:00 tonight and I think you should take charge of our ladies auxiliary, Hell’s Belles. And be a dear and run out and get some doughnuts, would you?

Yes, I did change it intentionally. Tuba just happened to be doing the name change while I was logged on to the board, as Cristi. But if you want to think of me as a Goddess, well, I certainly won’t object. One more worshipper never hurt anybody.

I asked Tuba about this before I changed my name, and she said it could be done. I didn’t want to get totally raked as a newbie. So Tuba is the real goddess, not me. Although I really would like to be Tuba when I grow up.
