Yeah, I was gonna mention you, Oncle… er… I mean Uncle. UB-bashing has been quite the rage lately. The guy’s had wackos base their screen name on his! Several times! Besidesm those David B threads are ancient. That was back in the day when GD’s hot topics were about ghosts and UFOs. Which I almost miss, considering the recent “my candidate can beat up your candidate” effluvia.
I would also like to add that I also have five pit threads with either Alphagene or “Alphonse” in the subject. That doesn’t include the “What I like best about Alphagene” MPSIMS thread where people were permitted to explore bizarre fanatsies involving me playing with Barbies and a “blankie”. Nor does it include “Vote Alphagene for Mr. Congeniality!” where the Canadian crank Prose declared that I was “freakin’ snide” or the just plain weird “Doing Alphagene” thread.
So I’m not the most ranted-about moderator, but if you consider overall creepy poster fixation, I’m up there…
Oh please. Everyone knows who’s number one when it comes to creepy poster fixation. I had He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named; that trumps any paltry MPSIMS thread.
Oh it’s not that bad, Gaudie. Just tell Ukulele Ike to back off. Oh wait… you mean… ohhhh yeah. Whats-His-Face. Yeah that was pretty bad.
Still, I have several dozen active posters who are constantly poking at my brusque urban veneer hoping that it will collapse to reveal a Backstreet Boy. Thank god they’re currently distracted by new episodes of Friends…

If you Mods have finished your little circle-jerk, how about getting a move on with banning ExTank?
Man, I hate those military-type soldiers. Chuck 'em out, the brutes! We serve no red-coats 'ere!
Well, time for me to get back to raising taxes and handing out porn to children.
(Yes, makin’ mock o’ uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an’ they’re starvation cheap;
An’ hustlin’ drunken soldiers when they’re goin’ large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin’ in full kit.)
Banning? Who said anything about banning? Oh, that’s right…ExTank is the one who brought it up, in his “I Fight For FREEEEEEEDOM!” protest thread in MPSIMS.
That said, I can’t lay claim to being the most-pitted Mod, at least in the sense of drawing flames. A disproportionate number of the threads dedicated to me are from GQers actually following the forum instructions and choosing the proper forum to ask a question about my moderating, as opposed to flaming me per se. And the title of one by Eve, I’m not ashamed to admit, kind of turned me on. So that definitely can’t count as a real flame.
Hey, does the thread I started in the Pit asking for compliments for Alphagene (who can’t stand people being nice in the Pit) count as a negative on his tally?
And do the threads panning Coldfire before he became a moderator count?
Ukele Ike: Is that Kipling? It kinda sounds like the little bit of his work that I’ve read. From that poem that became a song popular with the British Troops? Something about “Tommy this and Tommy that”?
I don’t know if you were being sarcastic or not, but that’s the way I chose to interpret your post, anyway.
On the advice of people saner than me (and I thank them for their kind words and sage advice; y’all know who you are), I’ll stop tilting at windmills and get back on my meds.
Taking everything in context, what’s with the wimpy banning stuff? Why not court martial? Deliberately defying a reasonable order and all…
Wrap oneself in military grandeur and discipline then live by the standards touted.
Last thing the military folks in my family said, respect for basic discipline and rank sorta ruled. Gun waving histrionics and flag draping could be considered, oh, I dunno, tacky.
Deliberate misbehavior to get banned from a bulletin board, masquerading as warrior-ethic patriotism?
Oh, thank god. I was afraid you were considering MY fixation on you to be “creepy.”
Psssst…ExTank: There were a few layers of sarcasm in my post. One dealt with presuppositions about left-wingers, another dealt with presuppositions from left-wingers about folks in the Army. The third dealt with creepy fixations on Gaudere, but that one was a little oblique.
