I'm almost home

I fly home tomorrow and I can’t wait!

I came to Israel for work back in January. My stay was supposed to be 6 weeks.

I’ve now been here 3 months.

This is a weird feeling; I can not wait to get home and see family and friends, but I also really love this place.

I won’t miss the daily routine much (working 12+ hour days with only Saturdays off), but I will miss the people.

Everyone I meet here are just so friendly and engaging. Back home, it is rare for people to engage you during a routine interaction; here, people seem to go out of their way to enjoy their moment with you.

I’m going to miss coming to the job sight (construction) and saying good morning to the workers. It is so nice and refreshing to go to someone here and say “good morning” and have them offer their hand to shake.

The women! Oh man, the women! So beautiful, so attractive, so beautiful! I will miss them the most.

I’ll also miss the weather, but soon I think I’d hate it. So far it has been quite cold at night, then rises to hot during the day. The past few days have been quite hot and quite humid, but I’m on the sea and enjoy the breeze off the sea. I keep hearing that it will soon be really hot and really humid, so that I wouldn’t miss.

This is as mundane and pointless as it gets, but it feels good to write what I’m feeling right.

Israel is a really, really great place, but I really can’t wait to be back in my own bed.
