OK, I’ll admit I’m easily entertained, but I really get a kick out of Clothahump’s Pit threads. About once every three weeks, he finds some ridiculous news story, usually turning out to be half-true at best, that he thinks will finally reveal the majority of the members of this board for the hypocrites, degenerates and closet communists that he firmly believes they are. You can almost see the 20-watt light bulb going on over his head as he laboriously works out the proper degree of sarcasm with which to express his utter contempt for us, just as you can almost see his jaw clench and the veins stand out on his forehead as he realizes he’s completely mucked it up again.
Yet no matter how many times he’s shown to be a complete tool, a couple weeks later he comes back and does it again. He’s like one of those cartoon cats whose every action seems to wind up with a firecracker exploding in his face. It ought to be boring as hell but for some reason it just never gets old.
Maybe someday it will be revealed that his absurdly reactionary persona turns out to be nothing but a put-on, but until then, Clothy, please don’t stop. You’re part of the reason I resubscribed.
What’s a “wetback”? From people’s reactions to Clothahump’s use of it, I get the feeling it might not be something i’d want to google.

It’s a derogatory reference to illegal immigrants from Mexico, based on the idea that they had to swim across the Rio Grande to get into the US.

Well, the ones sneaking into Michigan and New York would be wetfronts since they have to cross the Seaway to get here, but from the opposite direction* that the Mexicans take, but I think the rest of them would just be dustbacks or snowbacks based on what blows them across the borders from the plains.
- Admittedly, those crossing at Detroit are going the same direction as the folks from Mexico, but we need to not break this up into too many different names.
