I'm back!

I just graduated from United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and DAMN does it feel great to be back home.

The best way to describe my ten weeks there would be motivated misery. It sucked there. A lot. But in those ten weeks I learned more about leadership, my own physical and mental limits (they’re a LOT further than I ever thought) and how to react and lead under stress, confusion, and fatigue without killing myself and other people.

I have one more year of college left and then I go back to Quantico for 6 more months of basic officer school where I’ll learn everything about the Marine Corps and how to be a basic rifle platoon commander. Then I’ll go to Pensacola Naval Air Station where I’ll attend flight school.

There was a Sergeant with a digital camera at OCS and I managed to make it into a few pictures. The main photo gallery is here (I was in Alpha Company but everything you see in the pictures of different companies I went through.)

Here’s a picture of me, I’m on the left: 11 mile hump

'Grats, man. Stay the course!
