Did anyone notice I was gone?
Anyway, Mr. Nugent and I are now the proud owners of a two-family house.
Closing was eventful - during the walk-through of the house, when we turned on the furnace, it filled the basement with smoke. We had protracted negotiations about who was going to pay to fix it, and eventually came to an agreement. Then the next day, our new oil guy came and fixed it for free.
Also on that day, we had a gas guy, an electrician (there was not a grounded outlet in the whole house), floor sanders, a locksmith, a refrigerator delivery, and a waterbed delivery. We moved in the next day.
The house is wonderful - now we just need to find tenants…
