I'm confounded that no one is asking about the two ABORTIONS that Wendy Davis had. Is she a liar?

It’s a uterUS, not a uterYOU.

You got it wrong. There’s no “I” in fetus but there is an “us”.

You know damn well she didn’t write that. Someone with book learnin’ did it for her.

Don’t listen to the haters. Just tell us what a “book it” is, and doubtless we can clear this up in no time.

Never said you didn’t. I DID say you were trying (poorly) to make them sound remotely objective.

Not really. She’s not my gal, either.

Stupid reasons are stupid, no matter who you support politically.

Judging by the strawmen and misrepresentations that comprise most of your posts, you disagree with that sentiment.

OMFG. Best cross thread reference of the month.

I think he suspects Wendy Davis of being pro-choice.

I agree, she shouldn’t be so coy about being pro-choice.

That’s pretty misleading. She was not filibustering because the bill banned late term abortions (or at least that is not why she is famous for filibustering that bill. SHe is famous for filibustering a bill that would have placed regulatory requirements on abortion clinics that would have driven almost all of them out of business (hospital style surgical theaters AND admitting privileges at a nearby hospital).

Your impression of Texas is very different from my impression of Texas.

Not that different from the facts, though. Maybe there aren’t literally a majority of Texans who support a woman’s unrestricted right to choose an early-term abortion, but at least well over one-third of Texans do.
Wendy Davis is running as the Democratic candidate for Governor of Texas, and thus her constituency is mostly the rational, responsible majority
It’s highly questionable whether the “rational, responsible” voters make up a majority in Texas. Usually, candidates get over the top by attracting significant numbers of irresponsible loons.

Davis has her work cut out for her - down 9 points in the latest statewide poll and trailing slightly among women voters.

The more I think about this thread (which admittedly only happens during that brief moment when I wait for it to load), the odder I find it.

“That horrible woman, voluntarily announcing this stuff about abortions that are none of our business! She’s obviously lying about them! Let’s find out the TRUTH!! This is a very important issue, even though no one had ever thought about it until she brought it up! Lying bitch!”

You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. The people who replaced Ann Richards with George Bush. You know… morons.

'cause it will be the BEST book ever written on how to properly Seig Heil!!!

kstarnes realizes that, and has decided to hire a ghostwriter. How do I know this?

I saw him in the checkout line at Toys R Us with a Ouija Board.

Holy fuck. Me too.

Our influence is having a positive effect.

I was afraid this was going over everyone’s heads; glad to know it wasn’t.

Will we ever have a “Wither Texas” thread in GD?

Texas has always been pretty much withered.
