I'm Craving a Tall Glass of MMP

Howdy Y’all! I have deheathenated, disperese with ush duties, made and had N.O.L. and now have a load of towels in the dryer. Been bzzzy around heah! Now it’s chill time except for later foldin’ and puttin’ away towels.

Nuts I dont’ know what the law is in England and IANAL but I know here in the US I don’t think anyone would kick up too much of a fuss about an email address. However, I think the company should have sent the emails individually instead of a batch email just because it’s more professional.

Taters glad son made it home safe. Happy tree huntin’!

doggio depends on who’s doin’ the elbow lickin’.

Herbs the trick is not to open the oven door at all until it’s time. This means you will need to stand guard to ensure nobody touches that oven door. All force necessary is authorized for this procedure. Also, I am a weirdo but, the only Chex Mix [sup]TM[/sup] I like is the original savory kind. Now I want some. However that would mean goin’ to the sto’ and buyin’ everything I’d need so I’m likely to get over my desire as my desire to go anywhere is somewhat significantly less than zero right now.

OK, onward with surfin’ teh intartoobz!

ETA: First on Eleven!

Sitting in downtown Sandy Hook watching the townspeople walk by with bundles of flowers.

Our News Director emailed us this morning saying we are likely gone after tonight’s 11pm - “Time to let the town grieve” to quote him.

I heartily agree. My crew has studiously avoided mobbing the locals and all our interviews have been prearranged with willing participants - and we still managed to get compelling stories.

I understand why the local folks hate the media - honestly the NY crews are a bit more over the top than even I expected.

Nevertheless I will be happy to hit the road asap. I will sail with a clean conscience.

Still wondering why I’m so fatigued lately, but waking up with unhappy sinuses plus cramps might be a clue.

Deheathenizing in a little while, must soon begin what prettification is possible with me (the result definitely wouldn’t make a magazine cover, but I hopefully don’t scare small children).

Ugh. I had to sit down for a while today, and the only place to sit was beside a disgusting man who talked to himself (or me??) and stank of beer. I sat there for a while anyway. When he farted loudly and it stank worse than the beer, I finally got so disgusted that I left.

I walked outside for a while. I found a group of 3 homeless people and their 2 dogs. I gave them a package of Ritz crackers and a box of dog treats.

Daughter has gone home and taken her dog with her. Before she left, she helped me take the trash and recycling, then I took her to Arby’s for a sammich. Higgs is probably on the verge of exhaustion, what with all the running around and rasslin’!

**FCD **has gone to nap - unless a miracle occurs overnight, he’s not going to PA tomorrow. I kinda hope he’s sick enough for the next few days that he can’t go there at all - he doesn’t need the aggravation and he definitely needs the sleep. So we’ll see how that plays out.

I still need to bake up a batch of ginger snaps - I’m just having a tough time getting motivated today. I may also be suffering from snickerdoodle overload.

**tugig **- I knew you were a classy guy!

**Midget **- Ritz crackers seems kind of random - did you just happen to have some on you?

I often buy packages of Ritz crackers for myself. They’re easy to take anywhere and convenient to snack on.

Good cracker, goooooood cracker.

**rosie **- that cracked me up - talk about a blast from the past!

Well, Midget, it was very sweet of you to give away your crackers. Gold star for you! *

Midget good on you for givin’ away your crackers and for givin’ the box of doggie treats.

Nettie I didn’t scare any small children durin’ deheathenization. As a matter of fact YP’s 19 month old daughter flirted with me. Really. I was sittin’ behind her and her mom and Ella was winkin’ and smilin’ at me. It’s good to know I still got it!

Everyone who hadn’t already brought in their presents for the Givin’ Tree this mornin’. We always set it up in back of the Nave and as a part of ush duties I had to rearrange presents to give people room to walk around back there bein’ as there were soooooooo many presents.

gigity yay for leavin’ to let folks grieve. Good call from the news director.

Towels are all folded and put away. Go Me!

Despite the sketchy shrimp, we’ve been doing the usual and unusual housework. We brought in one the dressers we hauled down from RI and gave it a good scrubbing with Murphy’s soap and then hit it with Liquid Gold. I could swear I heard the wood say “thank you” as it’s gone from grubby to glowing.

Wish we knew more about it though - all we really know is that it is older than DH, and made by someone called Holland Furniture. I’m pretty sure it’s not the same company that has that name today as today’s version is a consignment store.

Glad to hear Tugig’s director has the right idea. The national TV news agencies seem to have taken “If it bleeds, it leads” to “if it’s terrible, we’re going to run with it for ten relentless hours and pre-empt the network’s normal programming.” Nice to see the occasional gleam of sanity.

Evening/afternoon. Delete as applicable.

Made it all the way home to the 'rents. We then went out for a late loooong lunch with my sister and her hubby-to-be. Then came home and took a 2 hours nap.

Going to bed in a minute with the vague hope of being fully on UK time tomorrow.

Yum cookies! Can you mail me some fcm?

Swampy you gotta 19 month old to flirt…you still gots it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mooooom we know the REAL reason you want the Mr. to stay home

Final batch of baking - I decided to go ahead and do the ginger snaps. I’m done baking for the year.

**mmmmmmmmmm **- c’mon over - cookies and milk for everybody!!!

swampy, you do realize that little kids love to laugh at goofy looking old geezers, right! :stuck_out_tongue:

Off to knit the night away. Who’s starting tomorrow?

MWAH!

MOOOOOOM it’s almost as fun to flirt with us old geezers as it is to get hard candy from all the old broads. :stuck_out_tongue:

Speakin’ of YP’s kid, I’ve been tellin’ I can’t wait until the day Ella sees him at the Altar and yells out, “Hi daddy!” Cause that will happen one day.

Ummm, sorry. That was me, I wuz talkin’ to you, sayin’, “Are you a mumper?”

Went to the supermarket, the clerk was putting out more thin cut chicken boobs, but they were all small packages that I saw, .70, .72, .75 lbs, which isn’t enough for us & therefore would require buying two packages, which ends up being a bit much. Conversation goes like this:
Me: Do you have any that are larger that three quarters of a pound
Clerk: This one’s not three quarters, it’s zero point seven five pounds
Me. Ummm, ahhh, nm ::walks off to find sometin else for dindin:: Yeah, it’s pretty rare to leave me speechless like that.

Ha ha ha! :stuck_out_tongue:

I read that as “thin cut chicken HEADS” and thought  Where the heck does spidey shop and even scarier, what the heck does he eat???

We’uns tawk funny, Midget. Check out the FAQ

I’m still cleaning but I’m almost done for the night. Eleven bags to goodwill so far and another one started. The trash on the curb consists of 4 large trash cans, full, and probably at least 10 more full trash bags laying around the cans plus one television. There was also a bookshelf but someone snagged it. So far, I haven’t even attempted to, you know, clean, this is all just purging the crap. Maybe, maybe tomorrow actual cleaning will begin. Not sure, though, we moved my catering supply rack into another room and we had to disassemble it partially and the clips that hold it together were so old that they just don’t want to keep it together anymore. So, I have to get new clips in the morning and assemble it and completely rearrange the room that it’s in.

TL/DR: Cleaning is good!

Impressive mine-out, Sticks.

Bear, I had my own pre-housebreaking admirer today. Very cute little boy, probably under 1 year old.

Got out to the car to come home, and discovered I’d left my lights on. For over three hours. Fortunately, it wasn’t hard to find a kind gent to help with the jump (I do have roadside assist coverage, but it takes them an annoying amount of time to get there).
