I'm Craving a Tall Glass of MMP

I’m a pet sitter and yes, there are people who buy bottled water for their pets. I have a number of clients that after I die, I would love to be re-incarnated as one of their pets.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 52 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 73. We will alledgedly have rain later today. Plus, we are under a “dense fog advisory” until ten a.m. How ominous!

flytrap I am familiar with “Jerusalem” so I have always gotten your reference to “Dark, Satanic Mill.” I find it an odd hymn/anthem but it is apparently greatly loved in England. The music is purty though. Also, beer and cookies go well together and are a source of a lot of the major food groups. No I have nuttin’ to back that up but it just seems right.

MOOOOOOM glad you had a good time at the partay. The shrine is indeed loverly!

mmmmms forgot to say yestiddy, glad you made it safe to Merrye Olde Englande.

chiz go on admit it. Those cases of Perrier water you have sittin’ around all over the place are for the cat. Same for the alabacore tuna and caviar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. I have ush duties today.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Happy Sunday.

The dog woke me up or I wouldn’t be here yet.
Poor guy, he was past the toenail tap dace and was into the desperate whine stage before he could get me up. Even then he runs across the hall to the bathroom because he always lets me ‘go’ first.
One night he woke me up and I get all the way to the back door and he’s not there. I’m thinking where the hell is he and I walk back and he is standing in the bathroom patiently waiting for me to get there, probably wondering what’s taking me so long.
He’s half blind, well more than half. Sometimes he loses me if I don’t follow the routine.

Up, and caffeinated, breakfast to commence shortly.

sari, desperate whining is better than elbow licking.

MMoooooomm, great shrine.

chizz, tap is fine. Although I did have a dog that preferred the water run through the Brita filter, chilled, and served in a teacup.:dubious:

Ethi, yeah, it’s good.

I know a guy who makes beer floats, not root beer floats, beer floats, usually uses porter.

The beginning of this month, I went out to Lancaster to a friends, then we drove up the T to Pottsville to do the Yeungling Brewery tour. They take you into the caves below the brewery where they stored the beer; they were carved by hand in the 19th century. Pretty cool.
Given it was the Satidy after the Monday after Thanksgiving**, there was more orange by the side of the road than at a Weekend Warrior’s* convention!

  • Weekend Warriors is the derisive name given to those who serve their sentence 48 hrs at a time, usually doing community service like litter patrols on the side of the road, ie. the DUI’ers.

** For those of you who don’t know Pensyltucky, the Monday after Thanksgiving is one of the two most important days on the calendar; the other (& possibly second) day is Christmas. It’s Opening Day of deer season. Literally, they close schools upstate in the ‘T’ for this.

AWESOME!!!

Oh wait…female cow-orker. I thought you meant me. nm. :frowning:

Sunday flavored blurf

Every time I drive past the Weekend Warriors and I want to stop and ask them if they know what kind of birds can’t fly.

Jail birds of course!
And drive off laughing.

Those aren’t the type of fellows one wants to be angry with one.

Going to see the Rockettes this afternoon followed by dinner at my favorite steakhouse. nomnomnom. Tummy will be happy.

That’s why I don’t do it, but I sure want to.

hmmm ** doggio** I’ve never licked elbows and hadn’t planned on it, so I’ll take your word for it

I’ve been cleaning again. We’ve gone through some junk in my mom’s bedroom and have pulled out 5 garbage bags of stuff for me to take to goodwill. Hmm… I just realized that it’s almost noon. I guess I’d better gather more stuff in the meantime and then head over to goodwill after I fix my grandparent’s lunches.

Mornin’ everyone.

My son and his buddy had a long horrific drive yesterday. It took them over eight hours to get home because of road conditions; snow and ice. They even had to stop and chain up. There were issues with the chains at first, but they finally got them on.

I never did make it out to buy the tree yesterday, so that, among a few other errands, is on the list for today. But first, coffee and a just a little down time.

Around here, they are non-violent offenders, DUI, shoplifting, drug charges, etc.
I would definitely not do it with the guys in leg irons of Abalama movie fame.

The funny thing is there are two groups that do this, goodness of their heart community service groups & judge-ordered community service. You can tell the difference two ways:
1 what’s on the side of the van - adopt-a-highway vs. <County> DA non-violent offender community service program.
2. the amount of orange/reflective gear on; the former wears barely any orange/reflectivity vests while the latter is much more visible. Ya’d think they treat the goodness of their heart folks a little better & get them more noticeable attire/vests, no?

Still here, even after a 5 hour foray yesterday to Walmart. Yes, we were gone for 5 plus hours, that’s door to door. We took our time, with plenty of rests for me, while in the store (that’s a huge store and I do need rest time while we’re there). We were able to get almost everything we wanted, except for a rib roast. There were -none- at that Walmart, I don’t know why but there weren’t even any areas in the beef section marked for rib roasts. I ended up getting an eye of round roast, so that is what we’ll have for Christmas dinner. I’m going to try that “roast in the 500 degree oven for 5-7 min. per pound, then turn off the oven and leave it in there for 2 and a half hours” cooking method - I sure hope that it works! Well, if it’s not done right, I can always put it back in there, right?!

My daughter also discovered Muddy Buddy Peppermint Bark chex mix - oh my gosh, that stuff is delicious! I guess I’ve been on a chex mix kick lately - I’ve made the muddy buddy peanut butter and chocolate ones, I tried some lemon muddy buddies (they were really good, although I didn’t let them sit out long enough and they weren’t all that crunchy). I found a recipe for something similar to the limited edition peppermint bark one and I’m going to try to make that later this week. Also, I was able to get some molasses, so the Lesbian Chocolate Gingerbread is in the future as well.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. Rosie’s .sig to all!

Three more batches of cookies baked - one is really ugly, one was pretty, but kinda flavorless. :frowning: The snickerdoodles were great, tho! I’ll make some ginger snaps later - I’m taking a break for now.

So you have the good, the bad and the ugly?

A friend and I saw a band by that name once, instead of enjoying the music, we were trying to figure out who in the band was whom. It was kind of a toss up as to who was bad and ugly, because none of them were good. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hm.

Got an email this morning (sent at 4am from the time sig), offering an interview for a part-time admin job, working for an organisation organising home care for people with intellectual disabilites… The email had put all 13 email addresses of the people invited to interview in the ‘to’ field, despite that being definitely illegal, as I know I didn’t give him permission to pass on my email address to 12 random strangers, and I bet they didn’t either.

I think I should maybe point out that someone working in a sector that should employ high standards of confidentiality should probably be aware at least of the basic data protection requirements in this country, yes? Whichever way, I don’t think I want to work there… even assuming it’s actually a real company, which it does, surprisingly, appear to be.

Anyway, attempt #2 at this year’s first cinema trip shall be starting shortly, wish me luck. It’d better be good

Ps, I’ll eat the dud cookies Mooooom, I’m not fussy.

Rough night… Think we ate some bad seafood for dinner last night. Vengeance was swift, and complicated by a water main break at night. What is this flushing you speak of?

Somewhere around 3AM, the water came back with much crackling and gurgling. Now, the mystery is for how long our water will be tan. AFAIK, the break was about two miles away, so it may be a while.
