I made brownies. Double chawklit brownies with pee-kahns. We just et brownies with ice cream and hot fudge sauce. YUM!!! OYKW is happy and has expressed a desire to show his “appreciation.”
Ah, good. The place I went to see the last Harry Potter movie only had it in 3D; I had to walk out after five minutes. Still haven’t seen it yet.
Well, I know where I’ll be Wednesday night.
House cleaning is now officially paused for the rest of the day. Good progress has been made. I found out that the oldest HFUN daughter has a cold so we all decided with my grandparents in the house that it would be a good idea to reschedule cookie time until next week. This is good, though, I can rest for the evening as my left ankle is being quite ornery at the moment and sitting seems like rather the best idea right now.
Please upload some to me? I know you’re not exactly an expert on girlie matters, but I really need chocolate today. ![]()
Good thing I read the whole post - for a second, I thought you wanted swampy to upload some of OYKW’s “appreciatin’”;)![]()
Uh, no. ![]()
I’m sure OYKW is a great guy, but I only want that sort of “appreciation” from my husband, thanks. Married and VERY monogamous. ![]()
Just so y’all know, I will not share OYKW’s “appreciation.”
Nor will I share my “appreciation” of OYKW. I know that’s selfish of me but, well, I like “appreciation” even more than I like beer and cookies.
No worries, O Ursine One. I wouldn’t ask you to share that “appreciation” with anyone other than OYKW.
Irked, came home, ate. No appreciation of my cooking tonight.:(
giggi,
Yay for vacation, mmmmm!
We worked on the Trailer of Three Wives.
I pulled staples out of a bedroom floor, filled holes, put sealer on it and laid tile.
Mrs. Plant v.3.0 took it upon herself to clean bathrooms that…I must be delicate, lest I offend sensitive souls, particularly Rosie…Mrs. Plant v.3.0 cleaned bathrooms that Mrs. Plant v.2.0 filthified so that Mrs. Plant v.1.0 may filthify them in turn.
She is the most valorous woman I have ever known!
A day off together is rare. I stir fried chicken and snow peas, a dish she likes, and rubbed her back until she went to sleep. She must awaken at 3:00 to slave in her Dark, Satanic Mill.
I would explain to Swampy that it is a reference to Blake’s Jerusalem, but I fear that he would make one of his strange connections to a masculine name.
We can see some outbuilding from the large windows in our house that face the back yard from two stories up.
The light on it is blinking again.
WTF is thie guy doing, signaling aliens that it is safe to land?
Maybe he’s hosting a rave?
One hopes not at the same time.
Yuegling is good with sweets.
What’s wrong with cookies and beer?
That reminds me… bourbon balls, I have to make bourbon balls.
See cookies and alcohol do go together!
I used to know a girl named Yuegling.
She was Swedish.
She flashed her porch light on and off when the coast was clear.
A buddy of mine in my WoW guild who lives in Jersey is very fond of Yeungling. He says that digging around in your fridge when you think you have nothing left to eat and finding one last bottle hiding behind the milk is even better than putting your winter coat on for the first time of the season and finding a $20 bill. I’ll have to try some some time…
The pet-sitter I hired came over this afternoon to meet my cat before I go on vacation. While I was explaining where the food was, one of her questions was if she should give the cat bottled water or if tap was OK.
I’m sorry, WHAT? She is a full-time sitter, so I know this question must come from having other clients who do this, but really? There are people that buy bottled water for pets? I drink the tap water, so why wouldn’t my cat? This is LA, not Kinshasa. I was floored.
Good morning!
I had a nice time at former boss’ shindig. I saw a few folks there I used to work with, got caught up on some gossip, and got a couple of substantial hugs from ex-boss. I think he really does miss me! Unfortunately, a few others that had been invited weren’t able to come for a variety of reasons, and I’d have liked to have seen them. Oh well, maybe another time. One thing for sure, from hearing what’s been going on there, I definitely did right by retiring when I did.
I also found out he still has my “shrine” in his office!
That cracked me up to no end! Especially since he’s in a different office from when I worked for him, so he had to take it with him! My ex-boss loved me!
(For those who weren’t Mumping in July 2011, I made this tacky little shrine so my boss wouldn’t forget me when I retired. It’s full of all kinds of inside jokes and I was so proud of how tacky it came out!)
Just before I left, I was chatting with him - we’ll be inviting him and his SO over for dinner after the holidays. That way we can chat without a bunch of annoying guests interrupting us!
Daughter is coming over later this morning and we’ll make 3 more batches of cookies. I expect it’ll be lots easier than when I had to do it all myself yesterday. First off, all 3 batches had to be chilled, so the mixing and stuff is done. All we’ll have to do is slice or roll or roll out the assorted doughs, do the final steps as applicable, and pop them into the oven. And if they all use the same oven temp, that’ll speed things along even more. Yay! I may be able to assume the knit position that much sooner!
I’m going to send a little bag of cookies to my cohort in PA - I’ll let FCD take them with him tomorrow. She’s been a great coworker, and I need to send her a thanks! Plus we have a metric buttload of cookies and I don’t need to give myself a metric butt, which I will if they’re sitting around and I’m home alone…
It’s raining, but not windy or cold, so there’s that. Happy Sunday!
The correct answer is “Nah, just dip her bowl in the toilet and scoop out as much as you can.”
Oh, wait, that’s for the dogs, not the cat…
