I'm finally starting to develop a taste for beer....

Last night, on a whim, i picked up a bottle of an interesting Magic Hat microbrew, Saint Gootz, it’s a hard flavor to describe, sort of a sweet, lemony, smooth beer, reasonably thick and filling, with low bitterness and almost no aftertaste

it pours a cloudy dark amber, it’s an unfiltered dark wheat beer, the bottles still have yeast settled in the bottom of the bottle, so you may see some pale yellowish clumps of yeast spinning lazily through the brew when you first pour it, they will settle to the bottom of the glass if you let it sit though

the head is thick and chewy, and has a good amount of aromatics, all in all, a very smooth drinking, refreshing beer, but not thin and watery, this is a brew with substance (and little floating yeasties…)

and i’m not generally a beer drinker, most beers taste like undrinkable swill to me, St. Gootz, however, is…different, it’s a beer i actually like

Drink deeply, MacTech

and enter the halls of Valhalla.

I wouldn’t say you developed a taste for “beer”. You developed a taste for Magic Hat productions. There is nothing wrong with that. I am a recovering alcoholic who never really liked the taste of the vast majority of beers but I always liked the Magic Hat ones. Wheat beers in general tend to be pretty good and superior to the blue-collar swill IMHO. You should try some more wheat beers because most of them have some of those qualities.

Go pick up a bottle of Delirium Tremens, and be happy.
