I'm finally writing my cyberpunk story

I’ve been sitting on this idea, and expanding on it, in my head for about two years, and have only now begun trying to work it into a coherent story. I wrote a little bit earlier last year, but abandoned it, and now I’m coming back to it again. It’s going to be a cyberpunk story set in a major U.S. city in the Northeast sometime in the future. It will be from the perspective of a young officer in the fascist-type government’s police force, and his experiences on the street in the dangerous area that he is assigned to patrol along with other armored police.

Instead of being from the perspective of a fringe element of society, and therefore in opposition to the “man” and the powers that be, it will follow this armored brute who is very much empowered and is able to step all over everyone else.

This selection is describing an incident in which Hoyle, the group’s lieutenant, whose face is severely and terrifyingly disfigured, sadistically frighten a kid who’s tripping out on acid in the street. Hoyle is going to be one of the more interesting characters - his backstory is that he became a cop because he would be able to wear a helmet (these cyberpunk cops wear armored suits and helmets) and nobody would have to see his face (his whole life, he had to endure people being jarred and disturbed by his facial appearance.)

There is more of the story, in bits and pieces, and I’m just now stitching it all together. I may illustrate it, also, when it’s done.
