I'm fucking mad at the people in the US who support and promote adult bullies.

Like when Trump criticized Heidi Klum’s looks for no reason?

Bully!

Bullshit, and I work in local schools.

In fact a lot of recent news from the right that are distorted are coming from efforts made by schools to stop bullies from thinking that nothing will happen to them.

As for the “grown up” real bullies that Trump likes to be a fellow traveller of:

Yep. Bullies, racist murdering cops, child rapists… as long as you know there won’t be any consequences because you can count on the higher-ups to look the other way, why not go hog wild?

What wrongful behavior has been aimed at him?

That wasn’t bullying, unless like ‘rape’, ‘racism’ and ‘sexism’ the term is stretched so far and spread so thin that it loses all real world meaning.

In the first place I don’t think Trump meant to attack Klum so much as to stealth brag about the beauty of the women he’s always dated. It’s also possible that Klum slighted him at some point in the past and he saw an opportunity to get back at her and took it.

But be that as it may, men and women make judgements as to each other’s attractiveness. It happens, big deal. Why do I suspect that if Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton were to make some comment along the lines of how they didn’t think Brad Pitt was all that anymore we wouldn’t be hearing a word about it from you guys?

Bullying isn’t nearly as bad as those other 3 things, and thus there’s not much of a stretch. I’ve bullied my wife at times without realizing it, and when I did, I apologized for it. Most people have bullied someone at some point – but the good ones recognize this, apologize for it, and try to avoid doing it again.

If so this speaks very poorly of him, that he would attempt to elevate his own image by insulting someone else.

Because your insight into how our minds work is totally out of whack. Obama made a joke about Boehner’s skin tone once – that was wrong, and he shouldn’t have done that. At least he made it to his face and was trying to joke rather than put him down.

Putting down people’s looks in public is incredibly obnoxious, and yes, it’s a form of bullying. It’s even worse considering the cultural and societal values placed on women’s looks – that it’s acceptable to judge and value women based on attractiveness.

You like Trump, and that’s fine. In fact, I hope he does well – I’m really rooting for him during the nomination. But you’re kidding yourself if you think he’s not a bully, at least sometimes. I think you’re just excusing it because you agree with him and like him.

we shall overcomb - Google Search - those liberal bullies.

…so we’re “nativists” now? Are citizens of Hispanic heritage and legal immigrants in favor of illegal immigration? If they’re not, should they be voting Republican?

Interesting post – sort of a ‘refutation by association’ argument: one crazy splinter group has an ulterior motive defined as racism, so we’re all racists.
Don’t you realize this is the attitude some of us find objectionable?

Yes. It’s stupid and wrong, and arguably bullying.

Your point?

We all age. But Trump has *chosen *that orange skin tone. And he’s chosen to try to disguise male pattern baldness with a ridiculous combover. He’s got horrible taste.

Just like Ted Cruz. Very early pictures show a rather good looking young fellow. He’s earned that face.

I mostly criticize what both these creeps say, though.

(On the morning news, Jeb Bush was questioned about using the phrase “anchor baby.” He got angry & defended his choice. The Bushes were once almost reasonable on immigration policies. Jeb’s got a Mexican wife & a slightly Hispanic looking son, already beginning a political career. But Trump is being an asshole, so Jeb is following his lead. )

It’s kind of funny. I was going to come in here and say “Trump is a jerk and I don’t like him, but calling him a bully may be going too far.”

But StarvingArtist pretty much convinced me the OP is right. :smack:

That was not the only choice. One should assume first that you are only an ignorant about what a lot of the Trump supporters are up to, but if you want to carry water for them it is not my problem. The point is that a lot of moderates become aware of the type of bullies that are using laws (made by bullies too) to harass notv only illegals.

I was not borne yesterday. Condemn those groups and bullies like Arpaio and then I would agree.

Yep. Did you not read the rest of my post, in which I admit to having bullied in the past and admonished President Obama for making a joke about Boehner’s appearance?

I take it you agree with my points, then?

Um…

“And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam [that](boehner orange) is in thine own eye?”

Thank you for recognizing that I mentioned this in my post.

Me: ‘Trump bullied, I’ve bullied, and liberals like President Obama have bullied too – bullying is wrong and people who have done it should apologize and not do it again.’
Terr: ‘Liberals like Obama bully too, Mr. hypocrite!’
Me: …

I am enjoying watching Trump’s political opponents, Republicans but especially Democrats, completely misunderstand Trump - and I hope they continue to do so.

Trumps’ boastful, over the top, in your face, persona is playing to the public. Very successfully, by the way. Thinking that this is how he actually is and trying to psychoanalyze him on that basis is pathetically presumptuous and completely misses the point. Yes, Trump is a motormouth, but he is very calculatingly a motormouth. His boasting is not “compulsive” - it is planned, well executed, and is working now and has worked really well for him in the past.

Trump extremely shrewdly calculated and understood the current voter Zeitgeist - and not just the Republicans’ either. The robotic, advisor-and-poll driven, everything-is-a-talking-point politicians have completely turned off the voters. The other candidates, Republican and Democrat, have so deeply incorporated these robotic tactics that they could not act natural if their lives depended on it. Trump looks natural and sounds natural. He, very calculatingly, KNOWS how to do it. No other politician seems to. Sanders tries, but he is a pale shadow.

Applause

Republicans, listen to Terr. Trump is your best hope! Nominate the man!
