I'm getting a little tired of the surgery center, doc

My husband had surgery on his wrist on January 31. The stitches were taken out February 15. The wound popped open February 16.

My husband had surgery on his wrist on February 17. The stitches were taken out March 8. The wound popped open March 9.

My husband had surgery on his wrist on March 9.

There hasn’t been a date set yet for the wound popping open. Would anyone care to start a pool?

Don’t let them take out the stitches, duh.

I don’t get it. Why did he require all the subsequent surguries? Or by surgery do you mean they just put new stitches in?

It’s a full-fledged IV-in, anaesthesia using, no eating after midnight procedure. They clean it up and recut the edges and something. I’m not sure what all is involved, but new stitches alone wouldn’t help.

If he is using the area too soon after surgery, tie him down or something. (semi-joke) If he is obeying the doctors orders talk to the doctors and find out what you/he can do. This doesn’t sound like a good thing. Maybe the repeated surgeries are not a good idea - the wound edges are too clean to heal correctly? When I cut my arms open several years ago trying to remove an air conditioner alone (note: DO NOT TRY THIS) the doctors did very little cleaning of the edges and told me a rip will heal more quickly than a razor cut.

I’m not taking any pool bets, because mine would be that it will never open again. My thoughts are with you and your hubby.

They could use surgical glue, and put the wrist in a brace that immobilises the wrist completely.
