I’m no wedding expert. All I can tell you is that mine (god willing) will be in a bar, everyone will be rollicking, and will start with the bachelor/ette party, culminate with a group hug, marriage, and the newlyweds crowd-surfing into the limo.

Congrats, Jersey and joe_cool. You’ve already got the happy together part down, so I’ll just wish you lots and lots of lucky with every other aspect of your lives together.
Can’t really give you any advice on inexpensive for weddings, as ours isn’t going to be. (That’s what I get for marrying into a big Italian family!) But from the sounds of things, you’re getting lots of good advice already anyway. I will, however, give you a link to a website I’ve found incredibly helpful. The Knot has a lot of good advice and a lot of good planning tools for any size wedding.

hahaha Just kidding. Thanks everybody, and we’re hoping to see as many of you folks as possible at the big gathering in NYC in January. Especially all the NY/NJers. Everybody else might have trouble getting here, but you guys have no excuse.

Congrats, guys. I must say you two are the cutest DoperCouple (not that Geobabe and UncleBill, and Mr. Cynical and Miss Creant and the other engaged-DoperCouples aren’t darn cute, but you may well be the cutest).
That’s so exciting. Having receptions in both NJ and NM should be fun. I imagine it will take some of the stress off each of them.
So, will we see you two before the big day? The January Dopefest is just too far away. Can you make it into the City for another before that? Are you planning to go to the New Jersey OcDoperFest (search for Green Bean’s thread on it if you haven’t seen it)?
