I'm glad Ryan Dunn is dead.

And how about this guy:

What do you think should happen to him? I mean, when you start with death, you really have nowhere to come up to.

How do you keep the car going from the backseat? Oh, I guess he had the cruise control set.

I know. This guy is some sort of DUI Viking.

I hope it turns out he was recording a stunt for a new movie. And they release the footage (minus the dead bodies part). Just so people would quit emulating these JACKASSES.

Maybe you should.

They don’t think you are cruel or heartless. They just think you are an insensitive ass and that your level of outrage is a bit over the top.

How do we know he didn’t have to swerve to avoid a squirrel, or that he didn’t run over some metal that slashed his tire, causing him to lose control? Although I understand Occam’s razor would seem to indicate that he probably simply was speeding and had an unsafe BAC. So maybe the OP should have been, “Assuming Dunn was drunk and driving recklessly then I am not feeling sorry for him one bit, although I am sorry for his friends and family and those of his passenger who now have to suffers the loss of someone close. If it turns out it was just a freak accident than it is truly a shame.”

Wow, he was killed about 2 miles from my house. No wonder traffic was slow yesterday morning.

My brother and I went to grade school with the Margeras – Bam (Brandon) was in my brother’s class and Jesse was in mine. We lived next door to them, on the other side of a small wooded stretch. Bam was always kind of a spaz even as a little boy, but Jesse was a nice kid. I don’t recognize the name Ryan Dunn; maybe he didn’t grow up here, or went to a different school.

It’s a shame when anyone is killed, but you know…don’t be an idiot, and your risks drop considerably.

And do we know it wasn’t the result of something like this? High-Horsepower Porsche 911s Recalled for Premature Wear of Wheel Hubs - The New York Times

It kinda seems like it is easier for some to gin up self-righteous hatred for drunk drivers than it is for them to feel the same “glad he’s dead” scorn for texting drivers.

Darn it, did Porsche drivers learn nothing from the crash of the Concorde?

How do we know he didn’t swerve to avoid hitting a young child with Asperger’s and ADHD, and isn’t in Heaven right now playing Halo 4 with Jesus, because all life is precious and everything happens for a reason?

Maybe he swerved to avoid a declawed cat. Or to avoid tipping a waiter like a gauche American. And did he take his shoes off when he got in the car?

I hope someone says this at your funeral, if anyone goes.

Drunk driving is bad. It’s illegal, for good reason. It’s also stupid, irresponsible, selfish, etc., etc.

What it is not is a capital offense.

Ever done anything stupid or irresponsible in your life, Xan? Would you have been “glad” if it had resulted in your death? How about a loved one? Anybody in your family ever make a mistake? Would you be glad if, say, your mother died drinking and driving?

You are more a Jackass than Ryan Dunn ever was.

Hey… give him credit. He’s stupider too.

Yeah, Wheelz. That’s what I meant to say.

I would rather have 10 drunk drivers dead by their own negligence than one innocent victim.

Dancing on his grave is bad form, but lets not scream to the heavens here with, “Why god! Why did this have to happen!?”

Assholes always do. Q.E.D.

Nah, everyone knows you don’t swerve to miss kids with those issues. They’re too fidgety and will jump right in front of you anyway. Best to hit them straight on and make it quick and clean. The ones you swerve to miss are the ones with thick coats on. They might be hiding something under the coat that would puncture your tires as you go over them. That was a lesson learned the hard way.
And Jesus doesn’t play Halo 4. He plays CoD: Black Ops. He loves him some zombie-killing action.

Really, the only reason I posted my original comment was because it amused me that on the day he died in an accident, Porsche announced an issue with their cars (not including his specific model, though) that could lead to almost the same situation.

At this time science has not developed a centrifuge into which you can place assorted selfish, dangerous idiots and then remove them stacked neatly by degree of assholishness.

For myself, I might smile and roll my eyes reading a story of someone who has a fatal accident texting while driving.

I don’t have a lot of interest in comparing that reaction to that of reading about a DUI fatality. A texter might be a little less of an asshole because they’re less apt travel the wrong way on interstates for three miles.
