It is a selfish, reckless and irresponsible act, and it is by definition a crime. Evil, to me, implies direct intent to harm others so no, I don’t see it as evil. I’m not willing to entertain the idea that stupid = evil.

And yes, I think there are far worse, and far more malicious ways to treat others. Call it a fine distinction if you want, but I see a huge difference between recklessly endangering the lives of others by engaging in an activity with a very high survivability rate, and actively seeking to intentionally cause harm for its own sake.

I agree with this. I really can’t feel too bad at what happened to him. He pretty much was asking for it. But I do see a difference in intent. I think there’s a big difference in actually trying to cause pain vs. criminal irresponsibility.

Hard to argue he didn’t deserve what he go though. Over twice the legal alcohol limit and over twice the legal speed limit? After one DUI? I can see having a bit of empathy over one mistake, but over this sort of compounded stupidity? No excuse for the guy.

Still, that’s a long way from showing glee at the death of someone.
