Because I know nothing of the passenger. I do know Dunn had a history of reckless and drunk driving.
So what if people do worse every day? He’s one less asshole in the world.

Ryan Dunn was completely shit-house drunk and murdered his passenger in an alcohol related homocide.

Fuck him, and the posters who support him.
Well, to be honest, i can’t recall anyone actually supporting him. The argument in this thread has largely been about whether it is appropriate to be glad that he’s dead.
I’m not glad, but i do think that he brought it upon himself and pretty much deserved what he got, especially given his history of driving infractions, which included a previous DUI, many previous speeding tickets, and citations for driving while suspended.
Blah blah blah blah And you know what? Two more were whelped within minutes of his death! Humans are, in the main, self-interested assholes. Get over it or simply wish death on humanity. I could get with you on that one. But why focus on one grain of sand on the beach? Blah blah blah blah
I hate to see such a sensless waste of a fine automobile.
Looks like this thread is pretty much over and dunn with.
Oh my god, calm your mind. No one is supporting drunk driving.
(Bolding mine)
Hmmm, are you sure or can you just not spell for shit?
ETA:Westboro church weighs in.
First of all… most of the time on purpose? You think Dunn accidentally got drunk and then drove?
Second, most people do not do worse “every day” than get drunk on purpose and careen down the road at 140 mph, perfectly willing to kill anyone in their path, but only managing to kill two people.
The fact that you think everyone does that kind of thing every day only shows that you really don’t see drunk driving for the intentional and evil crime that it is.
“Oh, shit, that’s my exit!”
More like, “Oh sh…”
(You think fans are already at the crash site looking for bits of fiberglass to sell on E-Bay?)
No kidding. Stone cold sober and on deserted highways I’ve marveled at just how perfectly and effortlessly a Porsche handles well in excess of 140 mph, and those were nowhere near GT3 class.
Dunn’s lack of skills, judgement, and boozin’ it up are completely to blame.
I see one for two bits. Is that the item or the bid?
For reference, “legally drunk” for adult non-commercial drivers in Pennsylvania (where the accident occurred) is 0.08 blood alcohol content. Cite.
Dunn was at two-and-a-half times that.
The speed limit at the crash scene was 55 mph.
Dun was traveling almost exactly two-and-a-half times that.
When I drove home last night, there were three cars (and one beer truck) parked on the side of the road overlooking the crash site, and the drivers were outside and taking pictures of it. So…yeah.
For the record, I don’t think he deserved to die, or that one should be glad he’s dead, or that being a minor celebrity meant that he forfeited his right to be treated with the respect one would afford to any other person…but he did a really stupid thing and died in a way that was entirely his fault and entirely preventable.
Karma’s a bitch, it ought to have happened to Charlie Sheen then.
That was in pretty poor taste.
I don’t think I can give it a golf clap.
But I’d be ryan if I said I didn’t chuckle when I read it.
I don’t think one is a victim when winning a Darwin award, but that’s just my opinion, of course.
It is a selfish, reckless and irresponsible act, and it is by definition a crime. Evil, to me, implies direct intent to harm others so no, I don’t see it as evil. I’m not willing to entertain the idea that stupid = evil.
And yes, I think there are far worse, and far more malicious ways to treat others. Call it a fine distinction if you want, but I see a huge difference between recklessly endangering the lives of others by engaging in an activity with a very high survivability rate, and actively seeking to intentionally cause harm for its own sake.
I have not seen mentioned anywhere if the driver or passenger were wearing seat belts. While I would have to imagine that a DWI sucks bad, it would have to suck less than death.
