I'm going back to college.

I’m 33, married, and a new dad (10 months ago), working full-time in IT, and I’m starting classes next week. It’s scary and exciting, and I’m really looking forward to it. I need about 22 classes for a BS in MIS, minus what few I can get “Life Experience Credits” for. I was hoping to finish in Dec. 2004, but in light of the number of courses/credits I need, maybe spring 2005 is more realistic. Anyways, I’m starting next week with two Summer Session 1 courses - one Monday & Wednesday nights, and one Tuesday & Thursday nights - both from 6:30 - 9:00. I was going to start with just one class, but not taking classes isn’t going to get me my degree.

Anyways, wish me luck!

Good luck, Winston.

Aside from the fact that you’re male, and working in IT, we could be the same person; I start school this August.

Congrats to MsRobyn and Winston! I’m sure you’ll both enjoy college. I’m finishing up my second semester in a few days, and it’s been the best experience of my life. I’ve made tons of friends, learned to handle myself away from my folks, and discovered I was capable of more than I ever dreamed.

Take care, and best wishes.

.:Nichol:.

I am graduating in two weeks, on the extended plan so to speak. I was a little obsessive about my grades, which may be due to going to college as a full-blown adult.

Best advice I can give you is this: A 92% is still an A. An 82% is still a B – and so on.

In other words, don’t fret if you don’t have perfect grades. And don’t be afraid to ask for the help you need from your school. You’ve got a daunting task, being employed full time, married and with a small child.

Best of luck to you –
