I'm Going To Become A Parrot Mom Again!

Hopefully by June or July, at that. After much research, talking to vets and birdy type folks and doing even more research, I have decided to bring another bird into the house—an African Grey. I’d like a Timneh, but a Congo would be just as nice.

Here’s the Wiki on Greys: Grey parrot - Wikipedia

I’ve been around all sizes and types of birds from finches to Blue and Gold Macaws all my life, and have always been in love with Greys. Now that I’ve my own place, I can finally bring a Grey into my life. I’ve told my other birdy-baby, Sami, that she’s still the #1 Evil Green Chicken, and nothing will change that.

I’m waiting till Summer to have the breeder I’m working with ship the bird to me. I would have adopted one locally, but alas, TAGs and CAGs are hard to find when it comes to adoptees. Yes, I probably should adopt, but having so much of a mental mess to work with when Sami came to live with us, I’d really rather want a baby that’s not been through the hell she went through. You’d never know it now but she was a wreck when she came home with me.

So. That’s my happiness for the next several weeks. And yes, there will be pictures!

They are hard to adopt? When you get your grey baby he will twitter his buds when you are not around. When they here about his sweet set-up, they will mobile the international grey secret society to move into your house . We have been owned by 5 greys, only really paid for the first.

Is Einstein an African Grey?

Yeah, he’s a grey.

Hey, I thought you said you were having a CRAPPY day? Sounds like a happy one to me! I would so love to have a Grey… Scritches to Evil Green Chicken Sami.

Remarkable bird, the African Grey, isn’t it. Beautiful plumage!

Aw, congrats! My friend has a Congo, and I’m always impressed by his mimicry and smarts.
