Weird that it took Shodan saying it for someone to point this out. We’re not getting dirty with the birthers. We’re hosting Cruz by his own petard. He’s the one saying it matters.
It’s the same idea as pointing out when a rabidly anti-gay pol is soliciting sex in the men’s bathroom. It doesn’t mean we think bring anti-gay is legitimate.
In a world with subjective morality, hypocrisy is one thing we all tend to agree is bad.
Jesus, like Ted Cruz has any chance of winning the presidency or even being nominated even without this controversy.
Has Cruz said it matters? I don’t recall Cruz saying anything birther-esque about Obama.
The good ones went into entertainment: Desi Arnaz, Gloria Esteban, Maria Conchita Alonso, Andy Garcia, Eva Mendes, Cameron Diaz, Pitbull. It’s the ones who went into politics who are scary.
Don’t jump to conclusions. It would have been a foolish decree to issue in the 1850s, particularly with that wording, as there had not yet been a Republican President.
Ya haven’t seen any Whigs in the Oval Office lately; have you noticed?
If Trump gets elected, we’ll have a really bad toupee.
There is a new question concerning The Ted’s eligibility. Both of Ted’s parents were married before. (and each of them has two daughters from the first marriage, giving Ted four older half-sisters). It isn’t even clear what Ted’s mother’s first husband’s name was, except that it appears to have been Wilson. There is not only no record of divorces for either of those marriages, there is also no record of a marriage certificate between Ted’s parents.
Why does this matter? Because the US citizenship law at the time of Ted’s birth said that if a person was born out of wedlock, then their mother, even if she was a US citizen, would have to have been living in the United States for twelve months immediately prior to his birth. Since Ted was born in Canada, then his mother was not living in the US for twelve months immediately prior to his birth. So if his parents weren’t legally married, he is a legal bastard, not just a moral one, and therefore he might not be a US citizen.
Do you have a cite for this? I’m pretty sure the requirement is for the mother to have lived in the US for twelve months at some point prior to the birth, not “immediately prior”.
ETA: cite for this. The requirement is for her to have been in the States for twelve months, there’s no “immediately prior” requirement.
I don’t think is a a correct interpretation of the law. As I read it, the mother just has to have lived in the US for 12 continuous months at any time. Most children born outside the US would not have their mothers spending the 12 previous months in the US, for the most part.

Who is saying this about 12 months immediately prior to the birth, and what are they using for evidence of that?
That’s what I get for reading birther blogs.
He’s already released it.

Clothy’s not really the brightest bulb in the pack.
I am a birth certificate expert having at one time been born before. That birth certificate does not say certificate of “live” birth, therefore it is wrong. There is also a suspicious delay between the date of birth, the date of registration, and when it was allegedly signed. All of those point to something shady going on, probably his parents or Rafael himself is too stupid to fake a certificate where all those dates are the same. I have also talked to a PDF expert on AOL Instant Message and he assures me that the loss of fidelity on the picture provided to the newspaper is used to hide photoshop details. The only way to be sure is if Cruz releases the actual birth certificate to be examined by experts. Until then, any moron can tell this is a fake document
Why is Rafael Cruz so afraid of releasing his real birth certificate? All he has to do is release it, but instead he chooses to obfuscate the issue with lies and photoshopped pictures. What is he hiding and what is he afraid of? Is he afraid of showing his real birth certificate which shows he is not eligible somehow for the presidency? And he’s not even denying he was born in Canada. Do we really want a foreigner Manchurian candidate commanding the biggest arsenal in the history of the world? What if he eats some spicy salsa one day and decides to nuke Brazil? How can Americans be so stupid as to follow this foreigner around? He might as well be a Martian
He looks more like Pluto.
Name your son Jonathan Adam Lincoln, and push him into politics.
The republicans aren’t going to care about where Cruz was born, because he has the proper ‘white’ lineage. Never mind that pesky relationship that Cuba had with the Soviet Union.
