I'm going to fly my US Flag. What if anyone else wants theirs flown?

Consider this a long story.

Back in September of 2001, I was in Kuwait, as a few Dopers will remember. As a result of 11 Sep 2001, my Congressional Representative (R-Marge Roukema) sent me a flag via my Mom to my deployed location.

Since then, I’ve taken measures to have my flag flown over reenlistments for my troops on 16 November 2001, Thanksgiving Day 2001, and my own 1LT “recommissioning” on 15 January 2002.

Also, my flag has flown over Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and most recently, the World Trade Center site in New York City.

My point of this post? I’m planning on heading overseas soon, and I’ll offer my services to fly any Doper a flag of their choice over whatever I can (including a certificate to make it official).

Any nation, any time, any place. Just send me a flag of your choosing (be it a 5X7’ Union Jack to a 3mmX7mm pencil flag).

I’ll take it with me. I’m leaving sooner than I can say online.

Godspeed, Tripler. I won’t send a flag with you; only my wishes for your safety.

I’ve never been into that “this flag flew over (______)” thing. All US flags are my flag. The flag in front of my porch has never flapped in the breeze anywhere else, but “my flag” has rippled all over the world. That’s why I don’t need Old Glory on my truck’s antenna. I’m an American, and wrapping myself in stars and stripes won’t make it any more so.
