I'm gone. If I don't post by Monday, I'm dead. Probably.

I’m going to the Chattacon Science fiction convention for Friday-Sunday of this week.

This entails going up (& worse, going down) Lookout Mountain, in this snowy weather.

But, I’m goin’, period!

So, if I don’t post by Monday, make a charitable donation to the Rutherford County Public Library here in Murfreesboro, in lieu of flowers.

Is VISA accepted?

Don’t post stuff like this with that thread title, okay? We’ve had enough tragedy lately.

Godammit.

Sorry.

Q

Scary post title.
I’m relieved, now that I know you’re not serious.

I’m also pleasantly surprised at myself, and the boards in general.

I hope you enjoy yourself. Be safe.

Be careful going over Monteagle, ok? That’s where things really get dicey (assuming you’re headed toward Chattanooga).

Just be sure to put fresh batteries in your toy phase pistol and everything should be OK

And for Finagle’s sake, don’t wear a red shirt.

Silly, silly Bosda.

Sweet to request donations to a liberry. Thems got sum gud books.

Not that I hope anything happens to you but, if it does, can I have the movie rights to the Life and Death of Bosda?

Have fun at the convention!

Hwey, I’m going to an SF convention this weekend, too! Arisia, at the Park Plaza in Boston.

I’m giving a talk , and am on a whole slew of panels on Saturday.

I don’y know why I typed Lookout Mountain, when I meant Monteagle.

And, for those of you who have never driven over Monteagle Mountain, I’m only semi-kidding.

Sorry if I scared you, Quasi.

I’m leaving as soon as my bank opens, to cash a check for travel money.

Bye-bye.

He’s not. While Monteagle isn’t up to, say, the Rocky Mountains, it’s pretty darn steep for Tennessee.
I used to not think anything of it. Then I realized that the sand-pit runaway truck ramps were there for a reason - and that there were, at times, trucks in them that lost the use of brakes going down the eastern side (there aren’t any such ramps on the western side).

So what costume will your crumpled body be found wearing?

You know, just in case I see some news item about an car accident where a Tralfamadorian was found dead, I’ll know it was/was not you.

Ohhhhh, Monteagle. So much for taking the Incline Railway then.

Hey, if you don’t make it back, can I have your CDs? You may as well give me your stereo, too. Thanks.

And I am not going to Arisia for the first time in my 18-year existance. Bah. If only there was no SCA, all the creative people around here might get themselves together and hold a con or two.

[sub]Stupid Pittsburgh, being far from Boston…[/sub]

My dad fell asleep while he was driving down Monteagle Mountain. He woke up the next day in the hospital, not badly hurt, but they told him there wasn’t enough of his car to keep. :frowning:

Last time I went to a scifi convention a barely survived.
Hell and I didn’t go past the parking lot.

I’m back.

Ah Hell, I was just worried about you, Bos’. Y’all are like family to me here, and I didn’t know how to take your thread title. (I opened that sumbitch as fast as my fingers could hit the keys! :D)

Sorry you had a rotten time.

Quasi

Taran, PARSEC, Pittsburgh’s SF fan club holds a convention called Confluence every year, usually the third weekend in July. Around the same time there’s also a major SCA event over in St. Swithin’s Bog, but the two tend to be different weekends. I’ll almost definitely by at Confluence this year and I should be able to introduce you to a couple of speakers. I also met three of my closest friends there.

Bosda, I’m sorry you had such a rotten time. It wasn’t a con run by Creation, was it?
