I'm gonna assume you are physically plain, "imperfect" or outright homely...

Odd thing is really VERY good looking people - well kind of scare me. Back when I was dating I wouldnt give a really beautiful woman a thought since they were so out of my league. I think, and this is only my observation, that people in general find a person of average looks to be easier to approach.

I know, odd.

Maybe uber-Mormons in Utah but I live in Arizona where there are plenty of Mormons, specifically in Mesa which is Mormon-central.* While there are plenty of billboards advertising elective plastic surgery, and some guy in Scottsdale advertising in movie theaters, none are specifically mentioning genitalia, not even the theater doctor who has the time to list about a half-dozen procedures on the screen.

*For the longest time Mesa had the only Mormon Temple in Arizona. Now there are two and a third is being built.

I’m a 61 year old male in financial straits and I got a boob job recently for $10,000

Well, I got billed that much from a company that provides credit for plastic surgery procedures. Someone stole my identity. I contacted the company’s fraud department and they gave me the name of the clinic—a plastic surgeon in a town I’ve never been to in south Florida. I called the clinic, reported the fraud and asked them what procedure “I” had done. They wouldn’t tell me. HIPAA regulations. So, I’m being billed 10 grand for a procedure apparently done on me, but you can’t tell me what I had done? Nope.

It was a mess to take care of. Reported to the FTC, put blocks on with the credit agencies, etc. The FTC is still investigating.

Hey, man, I get in more than enough trouble just looking like this.

I don’t find this odd at all as it makes perfect sense. I’d prefer an average girl over a trophy girl. Trophy girls are high maintenance and conceited. Average girls are down to earth and honest.

Well East coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the Southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I’m down there
The Midwest farmer’s daughters really make you feel alright
And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night

I only found CDC data relating to patients older than 45 in the USA and they show for the youngest group that 8.9/100.000 die from complications during surgery. I shudder thinking how many perfectly healthy young people have died getting a boob job or a liposuction.
Here is a risk-calculator: ACS Risk Calculator - Home Page I would say that you must be extremely ugly or frustrated to accept a risk higher that one in a billion, but others do obviously disagree.

‘Boob job’ can include reduction; in fact that’s a far far more involved operation than implants.
I’m another who was seriously considering it at once point, and I haven’t ruled it totally out. It’s not vanity (the horrendous level of jokes they attracted in my teens has thankfully dropped to an extreme rarity in my 30s, now I’m confident enough to not take shit from people), it’s constant back strain.

I’ve already had back surgery once, and though breast size probably wasn’t a significant factor in that case, it’s not all that unlikely that at some point I’ll come down to a choice of choosing a high risk of further back surgery or getting a reduction. One of those is a hell of a lot lower risk than the other.

Why would you assume that? I’m gorgeous.

I’m no attention grabber, but there’s nothing wrong with me that someone having 3-4 tequilas wouldn’t remedy. As for why I’ve not had work done? I’m at an age where how something looks is far less important than how it works.

Because I’m perfectly satisfied being “imperfect”. I’m pretty sure that even if I wasn’t I’d reject surgery due to the cost and risks others have mentioned. That’s pretty much why I haven’t had lasik. Well that and how good I look with glasses.

I’m fairly sure they’re right about the HIPAA regulations but I’m not seeing how what procedure was done matters. I mean, if some fraudster used your CC number to buy a big screen TV at Best Buy, would the prosecuters care which brand he walked out the door with?

No, it doesn’t help with the prosecution. I was just curious what “I” supposedly had done.

I’ve known a lot of women who have had breast reductions, and it is an operation that they do not regret, except that they regret not having it done sooner. I can’t think of any men who have had it done, that I know of, but it is also a common surgery.

As one woman told me, “No more back pain, no more neck pain, no more $125 custom-made H-cup bras, no more buying shirts in the plus-size department when I wear size 12 pants, etc.”

How do you know this person had a boob job when the clinic wouldn’t tell you what they had done?

FWIW - you look fabulous.

Regards,
Shodan

I don’t. Just taking a guess, it’s what the clinic advertises most.

Thanks. I turn a lot of heads at the beach.

… well, they turn away in disgust, but that’s something.

I halved my body weight a few years back, I was too old to get away with it and have a lot of excess skin that gets in the way of a lot. Financially I could probably swing the surgery but I love and need my exercise too much for 6 weeks of stillness then slow build up. I have lung disease that really needs me to be as fit and strong as possible so I adopt the mantra “better empty than full” and enjoy my incredible buoyancy in the pool, it isn’t so much swimming as paddling an inflatable raft. I do get fearful in strong winds if I am in short sleeves.

For the win.
