Extended Stay America. It happens 2 be over on the rich folks side of town here
in Little Rock. So its a good hotel and in a good environment. And yes the rooms were clean plus they had dishes in the kitchen area. But they only had forks, spoons, can opener, plates and cups, but I was still satisfied.
Oh and they had wi-fi that means that I can play games online and browse the web. I rally like playing video games one player but every now and then I like online challenge
kinda makes it hard to cook that pheasant under glass with demi glaze with a side of sauted veggies without the proper pots & serving pieces.
Did you not read his previous threads where he describes spending half of his $800/month income on prostitutes?
He’s stimulating the economy, and providing employment to members of the community. What’s the problem?
Sure, and that is a real fact of Yakuza’s life. But does that mean he is not as homeless as someone who becomes homeless by some other means?
If he shows up with his gaming system and a hooker, I don’t think he will be getting a voucher.
WHY are people feeling sorry for him?? This is ridiculous.
- Yakuza is making this all up to get a laugh out of it.
- Even if he’s not making it up, he’s happy with the life he’s living.
- Even if he weren’t happy, he’s not asking for your help.
- Even if he were asking for your help, your first response should be LAY OFF THE HOOKERS AND VIDEO GAMES. Not “let’s get this guy some social services.”
Yeesh.
Yeah, I spent about $50 a night at Candlewood Suites, but it was for a two week stay. No oven, but a stovetop, microwave, full size fridge, and a boatload of ultra-cheap dishes and utensils.
Leaving aside any question if the story is actually true or not; and, judging from the posts, the number of doubters are not a few, the question of how he became homeless does make a difference. If indeed if a person were actually to live as described, he’s not homeless. He has a place he can sleep which is indoors and safe, and not out in the elements.
If a person is able to work, is working, and simply choices decisions to allocate his income to paying for sex rather than on housing, then its his responsibility for housing. Help for homeless is intended for those who actually require help, and in a world where there are limited resources for the people with real problems (and although there will be those here may quite vocally disagree, substituting numbers for legitimate words is not a “real” problem in the same category as, say, schizophrenia) so the limited resources should be better allocated.
That said, the burning question from the last thread still remains, what is the size of the portable flat screen, and how does playing PS3 on something significantly less than 30 inches for 29 nights of the month make up for convenience of not having to write a check each month to a landlord?
I do not want to say that Yakuza could be mentally ill, but many homeless people are.
And these people are also happy living in a cardboard box, and they often do not ask for, or desire help.
And it very well may be their right to freeze to death in the elements, or endanger their lives…
Yakuza may not be any of these things, and concern on my part may be foolish, as suggested.
I don’t know if anyone remembers the ex-green beret from a while back who quit in a huff when directly questioned if he was legitimate, but at least he was entertaining. There was even a great fish story in it, IIFC, with bare hands and bloody fishing lines.
The question is how many more threads can be possible from this scenario.
First thread, something new.
Second, so so.
This one? Has it jumped the shark?
I think we need more character development or stories of Russian escorts who want to get married and / or sell drugs.
No, he’s the only sane one. There rest of us are the crazy ones. Imagine actually wanting to have a place to come home to.
That’s what she said!
This is Mr. Yakuza’s fourth thread.
What I’m seeing in this OP is that Yakuza got a taste of spending an actual night indoors, with an actual bed 2 get a good night’s sleep (or whatever) on, and realized what he’s been missing. Now he aspires 2 live like this 2 nights a month!
He could get used 2 this. Maybe he’ll gradually work his way up 2 weekly or more often. With a regular place 2 take a shower, he could even begin hoping 2 start attracting some free girls!
With the money he’s spending on hotel rooms and escorts, he could rent a room in someone else’s house like I do - $380 a month, all utilities paid.
Reading these threads just makes me sad.
Indeed! That’s why I’ve been asking Mr. Yakuza for all the details of his free-wheeling life-style, gently and with minimal snark, so he will feel most comfortable telling us about himself, so the rest of us, who dream of living so well, can begin designing our life’s trajectories accordingly.
Mr. Yakuza has clearly spent some time considering his life’s priorities. He has a plan, and he’s executing it! Fun and easy, indeed!
He has a plan? Great, that means he is probably a Japanese Cylon. Which means we will get some great stories, some okay ones, and some real stinkers. And of course his ending will blow chunks and have Dopers bitching about it for years.
Though I guess being a Japanese Cylon we might get some cool story arcs involving Godzilla or Mothra.
He aspires to live like this to how many nights a month?
Too.
