For I have just tendered my letter of resignation at my current place of employment, and accepted a new position at a local non-profit organization. It is the culmination of a job search that has dragged on for far too long, and I am extremely happy to be moving on. This is a direction I have spent considerable time, effort and money investing in myself and my education to achieve, and the opportunity at my hands is incredibly ripe.
I will be engaging in a large variety of projects, ranging from research to fundraising to outreach support to anything else the organization needs from me. At the end of the day, I believe that I will feel much more productive and impactful of the world around me. And ultimately, that and finally having the chance to realize my potentials are all that matter.
So I don’t forsee a break from the SDMB, but a wonderfully bittersweet ebbing away from it. I suspect my fantasy teams will suffer a bit from my departure from so much internet exposure, but that is an incredibly small price to pay for ultimate happiness, is it not?
