I’m so glad mom and baby are doing well. (And that there seem to be plenty of family around so she can keep doing well) Don’t be stupid and pigheaded like I was and feel guilty about letting everybody do everything else for you. I realized too late that you don’t get those moments back. Sit back, and rest and take advantage of all those well wishers coming to the house.
The best part of my births (probably the only good part of the births, besides my kids, of course) was when they had just been ‘caught’, and you’re all exhausted, and they lay this little, soft, warm, wet bundle on your chest. It’s such a delicious weight; not like the weight of a lover or a fidgety toddler or a cat sitting on you, I can’t explain it any other way but to call it a delicious weight because I felt priviledged.
Wonderful news! Yay, yay, yay! Congratulations!
Thank you so much for sharing with us! This is certainly the best thing I’ve read all day!
Congratulations!
how wonderful. a beautiful tribute.
congratulations.
may danielle moira have many happy healthy years!
Congratulations guys!!!
Congratulations and welcome to Danielle Moira! And thank you for sharing her birth with us.
Anyone who posts whilst in labor should automatically receive the **Doper of the Month ** Award.
(Guys, it would be like you posting whilst having a vasectomy…without RX.)
Congrats and enjoy that baby!
Pfft. You’re comparing a vasectomy to labor?
Lemmetellyasomethingaboutlabor.
There is no pain like it. None. (My mom swears kidney stones hurt worse but I don’t believe her.)
I would rather be a guy and have my nuts smashed with a ball peen hammer than to give birth even with an epidural!
Heh, screw that. How about a Congressional Medal of Honor?
Oh, and what a lovely name for your child. Congratulations.
Best wishes tlw, dmlw, and Mr. tlw.
Always good to hear of the newest littlest doper.
This has to be one of the best, most happiest threads I’ve read for awhile!! I am so happy for Mr. and Mrs. Tlw and Danielle!!
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful experience with us and Congratulations!!!
This thread put a big smile on my face.
Congrats to tlw’s family and many wishes for a long life and good health to their newest addition to the family.
Congratulations! Thanks for taking the time to share the news with us as you began labor ------- and for not keeping us in suspense with the great news.
Best wishes to the tlw family.
I cannot think of a more beautiful gesture than to use those names for a baby. Mazel Tov all around, and may peace abound in your home and lives.

Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and congratulations. We’re doing really well, and I’m largely in awe of this new little person. I’ve spent the last couple of days looking at her, wide-eyed, saying “Wow” a lot.
Interestingly, Danielle is like her mama, and likes to stay up at night. We’ve been on a 3 hour schedule, three hours awake, three asleep. This actually works really well for everyone!
I don’t know how soon I’ll be back with you on a regular basis, but I didn’t want to let the opportunity to thank you all slip by. Perhaps one day (if you’re interested) I’ll share my rave about home waterbirth, because gee, if I’d known it’d be so easy, I would’ve worked harder to have a kid before I was 42! But that’s another story.
Thanks again, everyone.
Congrats, Mazel Tov, and thanks for sharing! (No sarcasm this time!)
Sleep when the baby sleeps…
…then wake up and post a link to a baby pic!

(Hi Danielle! Tickle tickle! No, don’t cry, see? Mommy’s right there! No, turn your head, see? There she is!! etc etc)
Oh, wow, neat! Congratulations tlw!
Those are beautiful names, too, and she sounds like a sweetie (well, how could she not be?) for sure! It’s a wonderful tribute, and a gorgeous name besides. Danielle Moira…sounds like a princess!
::sends many snuggles Danielle Moira’s way::
Here’s where that smiley would be useful, guys.
Yes, do post your waterbirthing praise so I can look it up in 10 years or so when I decide to start popping out kids.
And please post pics soon!
tlw, I’m smiling all over my face after reading this thread and your wonderful news. Congratulations, and big hugs to your beautiful little girl.
