I'm home sick and I'm not happy...

I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Remember, eat lots of poodle soup.

FCM - Isn’t The Perfect Child (trademark thingy) old enough to bake cookies for you?? She should be home from school waiting on her poor [strike] decrepit[/strike] ill mother hand and foot.

Get well soon.

StG

thanks, Siemsi - I’m hoping I sleep it off tonight. Maybe after a little kahlua and cream - for medicinal purposes only, of course…

ivylass, Sven shall be rewarded with total and complete ownership of Bernie! At least till this malady passes.

DDG, at 17, mine is actually old enough to be a real help, once school is out. I don’t have to worry about making dinner or anything. I can even send her to fetch me soup or whatever.

Rue - if you truly loved me, you’d come over and vacuum the living room and scrub my shower. It’s a medical fact that having a clean house makes a woman feel better. No, really - ask any doctor!

lieu, poodle soup? Oh, there’s a mental image I didn’t need!

Well, if you want, Sven can strip down to his Speedos and get all sweaty doing the vacuuming and dusting and laundry. Or is that a scene FairyChadDad does not need to come home to?

StG, she’s plenty old enough to bake cookies - but she hasn’t quite mastered the cleaning up afterwards. Obviously I haven’t beaten her enough.

ivylass - my spousal unit is living and working in Baltimore right now, so Sven is free to come clean. In any case, as long as Sven wasn’t sweaty over me, I’m sure it’d be fine. No really!!

I’m sorry you dont feel well FCM. I think the best thing is to get some Campbell’s Home Cookin’ Chicken- Noodle soup and Watch The Princess Bride.
I like to just lie in bed and play Legos.:o

Feel better, FCM.

Being sick sucks.

oh, Roadwalker, The Princess Bride is an excellent idea - and it happens to be one of the few we have on DVD. When the kid goes off to do her volunteer work tonight, I’ll pop that one in. No Legos tho - we purged them from the house years ago.

GfH - it really does suck swampwater. I’m a lousy patient, too. I want to feel normal!!!

Ooh, thanks for the tissues. We’re running a little low by now.

Naptime for the Kidlet, I hope it works. She’s been whinier than ever, poor thing, and she needs sleep! I need sleep…

Here’s a fresh, hot mug of cocoa, FCM, in case you’re up at this hour.

Hope you feel better soon!

Poor FCM!

Did you ever watch The Young Ones? Viv had the perfect solution to illness… take to your bed with a bottle of vodka. And wipe snot on your hamster!

Hope you feel better soon!

Actually, RTF, I crashed before 8 last night and slept thru till about 4:30AM. I almost thought I would be able to go to work till I stood up. So it’s another day of scratchy, sniffly, sneezy solitude. At least my alliteration still works…

Astroboy - I don’t have a hamster and I certainly wouldn’t wipe snot on one if I did have one. ICK! Is that some weird Korean practice? No vodka here. There’s some nasty wine that I use for cooking and the remnants of generic kahlua and amaretto, plus some spiced rum for daquiris. I think I’ll stick with the cocoa. But thanks for the thought, I guess…

Hi FCM, so sorry that you’re feeling under the weather, but look at it this way…you’ll be feeling great in time to enjoy Christmas and New Year. Will FCD be coming home for the holidays?

By the way, avoid consuming any dairy products, as they are “mucous makers.” (Ewww, sorry, everybody.) If you have an ice cream craving, try some Soy Delicious, it’s really tasty.

But … but … no Legos??? How can this be?

Why, Legos are the building blocks of childhood creativity. [hurm]

Spooky, my sweetie will be driving home on the Saturday before Christmas - woohoo! I fully intend to be my usual, healthy, hearty self long before then. And I hate to disagree with you, but the theraputic qualities of ice cream are well-known and beyond question. So well-known, in fact, that it’d be an insult to post a cite. No, really!!

GH - my baby is 17 - she’s long since passed her Legos to one of her cousins. If I need to get creative, I’ve got a mess o’yarn and some knitting needles. But I’m not feeling creative - just congested. I think it’s about time for some medicinal ice cream.

hmmmmmmmmm…let’s see what I have here. Ah, fresh lemons, sugar, mint, whiskey. Here FairyChatMom sweetie have a steaming cup of swampbear’s cold remedy. That’s good, drink it all down. Now, have another. Awww…that’s good. Now one more. That’s right, drink it all down.

Ok, so it doesn’t exactly cure a cold but you’ll sleep til sometime Saturday and when you wake up you’ll be all better. Well, cept for that nasty lil’ headache but I’ll leave this nice little bottle of pain reliever by your bed to help that out.

Well, if you don’t want to wipe snot on the hamster, your dog would probably be willing to lick it away for you. Dogs are gross like that, you know.

swampbear, I need to tell you that I have a really low tolerance for alcohol - one drink pretty much sends me to dreamland, which is why I rarely drink. But sleeping till Saturday sounds wonderful…

dang, featherlou, that is disgusting on so many levels!! Besides, isn’t that what the long sleeves on my robe are for? I can’t believe you’re so classless… sheesh.

Hot lemon with ginger and honey. Let’s see, where’s the painkillers?.. over there. I think you need your pillows fluffed again. Here’s let me do it. ::fluffs pillows::

Homemade chocolate pudding with whipped cream? That’s medicinal. Do you want it still warm, or slightly cool? I’ll go make some. And here, have another blanket. I think someone should be reading Winnie-The-Pooh aloud to you unless you like Narnia or Green Eggs And Ham better. Where’s Sven? Sven! C’mere. ::bustles off to the kitchen::

That nasty bug is going around here in Florida, FairyChatMom. My daughter The Princess Without A Country::trademark thingy:: had larangitis so bad she couldn’t talk at all… Hope you’re feeling better.
