I'm Jeff Goldbloom in The Fly

I’m a natural redhead but I keep finding these coarse black hairs on my arms and hands. What causes them? Is my hair color changing slowly but surely? Should I refrain from pulling them out?

No offense, but I hope you don’t mind if I don’t invite you to dinner.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I believe the actor is GOLDBLUM.

That was before he went through the teleporter.

I’m dark-haired, and I find the occasional blond hair on my body. And grey hairs too lately, unfortunately…

You do not mention your age in your post, or how old you were when you first noticed these changes.

People are likely to notice changes in their hair, and particularly in the pattern of their body hair, well after puberty. There appears to be a good deal of individual variation in this, both with respect to what changes may arise, and when.

A friend of mine who had thick blond hair as a teenager is now in his early forties, balding, and black-haired. The effect is really quite startling; as a joke, he sometimes tells people that an old photograph on his office desk is of his brother, and they will observe that their eyes look just alike.

It is my impression that the hair on one’s scalp and hair elsewhere tend to be two separate phenomena; if it is the hair on your arms that is changing, there would not seem to be any reason to assume that the hair on your head is going to undergo the same change. I am in my late forties and I have noticed in the last few years that I have hair in places where I didn’t used to. In particular, I have hair that has sprouted in various parts of my ears, a common sign of aging (or, as I prefer to think of it, “maturity”). It also seems to me that as I have lost hair due to male-pattern baldness my beard has become thicker and more extensive. I have been told that this too is common.
