He is by far the best QB in the nation - and two close losses to OSU and FSU can not be attributed to him. He put up monster numbers for both games.
Even Larry Fitz, who plays for a team in a worse conference with the same record and who is less of an impact on his team, is above Rivers in the Heisman race.
Rivers will start his 50th and final game in college - an NCAA record. But it looks like his college career will go out with a whimper.
I agree completely, but given that he plays on a team that is 7-4 it won’t happen. I’m not sure he should win it, but he should definitely be invited and sitting with Larry Fitzgerald and Jason White.
Sadly, most people haven’t seen him play and don’t realize what a crappy defense N.C. State has. His efficiency rating is 169.8, which is second only to Jason White, and has thrown 29 touchdowns to six interceptions.
He has accomplished this while having to play catch-up in a lot of games because of the defense. With Oklahoma’s awesome defense, White hasn’t had to make near the kind of throws and plays that Rivers has. And he has had one helluva career, he beat FSU twice.
Dude, you can’t really believe that the current ACC is a lot better than the current Big East. Larry Fitzgerald and Jason White are the top of the class, but Rivers comes in a decent third.
