I'm moderately pissed off about this.

So I don’t have a cell phone, sue me. It seems that there are public payphone providers that are more than happy to have non-working phones (as long as they take the money), because most people aren’t going to go through the hastle of trying to get their $0.35 (or more) back. I think that’s despicable, especially since most people who use pay phones are poor.

So I tried to use a Cleartel phone, and it didn’t work. Not only that, but the number to contact them didn’t work. So I copied the 800 number thinking, “at least I’ll cost them what they made on me by calling their 800 number and complaining.” Guess what, the 800 number didn’t work either. Better Business Bureau has a number in D.C., but I’m not going to pay long distance to find out if it’s them. I couldn’t find an 800 number listed on the web.

I’d like to do something. Like maybe give their business emails to porn/spam emailers. There’s gotta be a way to get to them without spending too much more effort than it’s worth. I wonder how many more people have put their change in Cleartel’s sucker machine.

Oh well,
